If I could give this hotel 0 stars for customer service, I would. On Oct 13th I booked this hotel for 5 nights in December. There was a promo on their website so I booked directly through them. The next day I received an updated confirmation that added an additional $2k+ to our reservation with NO EXPLANATION. I called and spoke to the manager, Alexandra. I explained the situation. She emailed me (along with 3 other Westhouse employees- Armani, Lakel and Pagye) asking if I could attach both confirmations so she could look into what happened. I "replied all" and attached both confirmations and explained the situation again. Two days went by and I heard nothing. I followed up on Oct 16th asking for an update. Another manager, Armani (Alexandra's manager), asked me what I needed help with. I explained the whole situation again (again, "replying all"). No response. I followed up again on Oct 18th. Again, no response. I followed up AGAIN on October 22nd via email. I then followed up my email with a phone call and spoke to Armani. She was apologetic that no one got back to me and said she would look into what is going on. She called me back a few hours later and said that the hotel would NOT honor the rate I booked at ($3500 for 5 nights) as it was a glitch in the system and that if I wanted to keep the room it would be at the adjusted rate of $5500. She was "very sorry for the inconvenience" and could "understand my frustration." I am shocked and speechless that this is how the hotel handled this situation. Their system messed up and they wouldn't honor the rate. I understand that they will easily book this room for the the full $5500 and losing one customer means nothing to them if they can get an additional $2k+ in revenue, but it's a shame that this is how they treat customers.

Selected this hotel based on website highlighting lounge bar area. We were traveling with friends. We wanted a nice area to gather for cocktails in the evening. When we checked in, they told us the bar was “a nonfunctional bar. They direct you to their sister hotel (Park Central). This hotel bar is closed Sunday and Monday! Very odd for hotel in NYC. WestHouse should not promote bar on website!!!! Rooms are warm/stuffy. Ask for a fan when you check in. The rooms have had a lot of traffic. They need to pay attention to details. For example, no tissue holder. Literally have cardboard tissue box on display. Elevators are very slow! The good -Courteous staff. Good location.

My family and I recently stayed here and had a wonderful experience. The staff was incredibly nice and accommodating, especially Pagye. The location was perfect, a mere few blocks from central park and all of the action. We look forward to our next stay! Definitely will return.
