Waldorf Astoria Maldives Ithaafushi

Thank you WA Maldives for an amazing stay in paradise and providing an outstanding and personal service to us. The entire experience, from the first contact at the airport until our departure, has been beyond imagination and has now become a beautiful memory for us. The entire island of the WA Maldives is just like a beautiful and tropical paradise. We immediately felt home and the stunning villa made us smile throughout the entire day. It feels like everything has been prepared with great care, spending also a lot of attention to each detail. During one evening, we got the chance to enjoy a private beach dinner. An absolute once in a lifetime experience. The setup of the dinner was already so beautiful, however, the amazing service of Mufid made the evening become unforgettable. Together with the magic that our chef Torik did on the BBQ it was more than a perfect dinner. The entire team of the WA Maldives continuously provided a lovely and personalized atmosphere. Coming from this high level of service our personal concierge, Alina, somehow still managed to be absolutely outstanding. We never ever want to miss her at the WA Maldives. Thanks to her, we have the most beautiful memories from our vacation on the Maldives. We also had the chance to enjoy the personal service of Sasha for a few days. She took great care of us and assisted us so perfectly with any wishes. Looking a lot forward to coming back to the WA Maldives one day.

Let me start by saying - this was the best resort we’ve stayed in. From start to finish everything was exceptional and exceeded our expectations (which were really high, as we’ve been to the Maldives many times before) We were lucky to be able to stay half of our time in a Grand Overwater Villa and the other half in the prestigious Stella Maris. The Overwater villas in Ithaafushi are really spacious, nothing compared to your average Maldives Resort where the water villa tends to be smaller than the beach villa. All of the villas have a pool and direct access to the ocean. They are very well equipped with everything you need for a stay in a sunny resort. The Stella Maria villas though are from another world. They have only two and these are in the middle of the ocean only accessible via boat. These are probably the best villas to stay in the whole country (if not world). 360 degree ocean view, full privacy, jacuzzi, huge pool, 3-4 rooms and 24/7 service to get on and off via speedboat. This villa is pricy but worth every cent for the experience. I’d recommend 3-4 nights here if you can afford it! It is maybe a little further away from some of the outlets but who doesn’t want to arrive for lunch in a boat? Next up food and beverage: excellent. Of course the prices for some things like Coca Cola and water are maybe too high but after all that’s Maldives. Still 14 dollars for a can of Coke Zero at the pool is debatable. Except for that, you get what you pay for. The Ledge has an amazing smoked steak which is a truly unique taste. Li Long is their Chinese outlet with great Beijing duck and a set menu well worth the price. Zuma is a franchised Japanese with great food. However, we found it a little bit overpriced compared to the other outlets and the portion sizes. Still if you have the spare change, the food tastes amazing. Terra is their tree top fine dining restaurant and we were pleasantly surprised about the portion sizes. It’s the most expensive set menu but you really get high quality food and great volume of it. Glow is their organic outlet. Honestly nothing special and we agreed that this was the least special. Yasmeen is an Arabic restaurant with huge portion sizes. Gotta say, the portions here were actually too big, mainly the mezzes. You get like 8 mezze as a starter and a grill plate and dessert afterwards. But complaining about too much food for your money is good, right? All in all, one of the best resorts in MV and we will come back!

Exceptional in every way. Starting from the arrival until our last day. The Staff has been nothing but super friendly and aware. Great variety of restaurants, I loved Terra especially. The rooms are spacious and elegant. Thank you very much for an unforgettable experience! We would come back any time!
