Villa Cora is located in a centuries-old park that overlooks the Boboli Gardens, on the hills just outside the historical centre of Florence. The villa is an aristocratic residence built at the end of the XIX century upon commission by Baron Oppenheim reflecting the architectural styles of that period. It is dominated by a strong eclectic decor that provides the villa with different, sometimes even bizarre, artistic styles. Villa Cora, inaugurated when Florence was the capital of the Kingdom of Italy, has become throughout the years one of the major cultural and cosmopolitan symbols of Florence.
Villa Cora earned its reputation by hosting international guests of great importance, such as Princess Eugenia, wife of Napoleon III, and the Russian composer Tchaikovsky. In addition, it has always been considered the most beautiful residence of the Tuscan capital. Villa Cora became an exclusive grand hotel at the end of 1960 and reopened in late 2010 after a detailed three-year restoration. In 2016, Villa Cora becomes part of The Leading Hotels of the World, an international collection of luxury independent hotels.

I am staying in Villa Cora since 2014 and never think about alternative hotel unless it’s fully booked, because simply it is the best hotel in Florence. It is 5-10 mins away fro the center but they are in a big park with amazing view to Florence. The building is historical and every part of it is an art, although they have only 46 rooms but they have big team serving their guests with high quality of services. Keep up Villa Cora
Fell a little bit in love with Florence and a lot in love with Villa Cora. We stayed in a duplex room with our son. The hotel is beautiful, so elegant and the service is wonderful. The staff are super attentive and friendly. For us this was a faultless stay and we would love to return one day.
I can not express in words how wonderful this hotel is. It is the most fantastic hotel in so many ways. First-the employees. The employees are so kind, generous, professional, and helpful. The food in the restaurant is some of the best we have had in Florence. The breakfast is varied, fresh, elegant and open from 7-10:30. The concierge staff is well know and respected all over Florence and can connect you with the best guides, drivers, wineries and restaurants. We enjoyed a truffle hunt and a truffle lunch that was so amazing, we felt like we were in a movie. The rooms are large, elegant, modern and so so old world Italian…all at the same time-which is perfect. Every question is answered with, “yes, of course” and a smile. The grounds are like a park-right in the middle of the city. Beauty in every direction yet a 5 minute drive to the center of everything. If you want to be right in the middle of the city, this is not for you. If you want the peace and luxury of being in a beautiful garden setting, just 5 minutes outside. This is perfect. Perfect!! Bravo!! Bravo!! I don’t want to leave and I can not wait to come back. If you want a quintessential Italian villa experience and be in Florence. This is your place.
