The Veggera Hotel in Santorini is situated on the famous black sandy beach of the cosmopolitan settlement of Perissa, in southeast Santorini.
The hotel is located on a unique spot, with the beach in front and the dramatic rock formations in the backdrop. The area itself is absolutely breathtaking, making it one of the best settings for Perissa hotels in Santorini Greece.

We recently visited the Vegerra as a party of 4 for the second time having spent a week there in May 2018. Our first experience was, in general, a positive one and we were looking forward to returning. However the same cannot be said about this visit. We had booked so called superior rooms but in reality they were tired & run down and the beds are, as previous reviewers have commented, pretty uncomfortable. There are no tea or coffee making facilities in the room but you can obtain a kettle from reception. If they have one available! We managed to get one between the two rooms. Our ‘balcony’ was in effect just a small terrace adjoining two passageways which gave us no privacy whatsoever. The outside area, table and seating were not cleaned at all during our stay other than by ourselves and the old wooden chair completely collapsed on our last day. Our bathroom door, weirdly, could only be locked from the outside! Breakfast was buffet style, pretty limited in choice and most items were at best lukewarm. The tea/coffee machine, toaster and juice dispenser are all positioned in the same area next to a very large pillar which meant this area was constantly overcrowded. It wouldn’t take a lot of thought or effort to move things around to free up some space and avoid the daily scrum around the pillar. However the most infuriating thing of all was the lack of cups, plates, cutlery. Cups especially were in short supply so every morning there was a queue of people waiting and the staff were bringing out just 1 or 2 at a time. Having tea and coffee cups available is a pretty basic requirement for a breakfast service I would have thought. Apart from the inconvenience to the guests it must be very frustrating for the staff having to constantly replenish these. For those guests whose flight home is late in the day there are no facilities for showering (other than at the poolside) and if you want to change clothes you have to use the reception toilets to do so. There seems to be a ‘no late checkout’ policy. I’m not sure to what extent the fact that they were closing down for the winter in a few weeks affected the level of service throughout the hotel but I would think twice in future before booking so close to the end of their season. The staff, with one or two exceptions, seemed to have abandoned the basics of customer service. Overall a very disappointing trip. Would we stay at The Vegerra again? No!

Had a great holiday in Perrisa. We have had good Holidays in this hotel with family and friends over the years. This year it was different, the receptionist were not very friendly but the bar staff and restaurant staff were great. We had a very late flight home, we were unable to keep our room on or any other room although the hotel was not full. We asked where we could have a shower and get changed later in the day, we were told to have a shower outside and get changed in the tiny toilet. The hotel offered no explanation and were rude, they didn’t care. We will be looking for somewhere different to stay next year, will not stay here again. I never put reviews but felt strongly to let other people know what to expect

Can only comment on the bar - Overpriced drinks and very poor service. Really wish we hadn't wasted our time in there. So many other places to visit. Don't bother going here. Bar man just shrugged when we informed him of sour wine. Not welcoming at all .
