Hotel Overview
URSO Hotel is located in a privileged enclave between the central districts of Chamberí, Tribunal, and Chueca. The hotel is a historic building built by José María Mendoza Ussía. This edifice integrates the royal character of the bourgeois architecture of Madrid during the 20th-century, with the modernity and comfort of a modern luxury hotel.
The building was home to the renowned company “Papelera Española”. The edifice maintains the neoclassical elegance with its towers, corner chamfers or the classic viewpoints that support the noble balcony. Its history can also be felt in the interior spaces, with original features such as the central patio, the colourful stained-glass windows, the decorative tiles, the library, the marble floors, and the wooden walls.

Not great
Honestly I do not understand the reviews. I agreed to change last minute from my favorite hotel in madrid because of an offer and I am here regretting it. I have been in the lobby for one hour. They said they had no upgrade and when I said I would leave, magically they indeed had rooms. The room is quite small compared to some of the hotels I usually stay in in madrid. If you have luggage there is not much space at all And an hour in the lobby at 4.30 pm after a long day of travel, I would not recommend I hope the situation improved and I can revise this bit so far I would not come back

Nice place
Very nice hotel, very well located. Rooms are spacious and clean. Hotel is quiet which is very appreciable nowadays not too noisy. Room service is rather fast and on time, food is OK, could be better. They made a mistake in my room, but it was corrected the very same day, thanks to the manager/sales director who solved the problem in a prompt and efficient manner.

An elegant and calm stay in the midst of Madrid
The Urso Hotel and Spa is a rare experience in hotels - the staff is attentive, they anticipate your needs, they stay one step ahead, everything is elegant - the flowers, the rooms, the lobby, bar and restaurant. There is a calm sense of ease to the property. I recommend it without reservation and it will be my hotel of choice when returning to Madrid.
