Turtle Beach by Elegant Hotels

Let me start with the the positives. We were greeted at the front desk with cold cloths for our faces. This was a nice gesture since it was so humid. Turtle beach is a beautiful resort with alot of potential. The resort is within walking distance to St. Lawrence Gap and right next door to Sandals. We were a large group of 11. We had a grand time together but this resort could use a lot of improvements. Now, for the things that could improve. 1. The rooms are outdated and could use some remodeling! Two of stayed in a room and we had twin sized beds that were pushed together. We made the best of it. The bathroom and the shower was rusty and looked dirty. The knob to the tub/shower fell off every time I tried to take a shower. The water gets scolding hot, so you have to be very careful or you could literally burn yourself. 2. With the exception of a few, the majority of the workers had HORRIBLE attitudes. They didn’t even try to hide it. Ask for something, and some of them would literally roll their eyes, and look you up and down. Some wouldn’t even speak. They don’t seem too welcoming at all. Elizabeth at the bar was one of them. She was the bartender on the night of Friday September 6th 2024 near the Sandtrap restaurant. She seemed like she didn’t want to be bothered at all. We decided to call it an early night and we all went to bed. Note: I’m a very good tipper but some of them make you not want to give them anything! Customer service is seriously lacking! 3. There’s absolutely no night life. There’s barely any life at all! After a certain time, that place is like a ghost town. You could literally hear a pin drop. This is not the place to stay if you’re looking for something to do at night, parties, or liveliness. 4. Non working elevators! It’s already hot and humid. This just adds to the aggravation, especially when you’re on the 4th floor! 5. The beach is beautiful but beware you may see a fight/heated argument amongst the locals. They don’t care who’s around!! Overall, my group had a great time because we made it fun for ourselves! I definitely would NOT stay here again.

Just want to say a big thank you to all staff at turtle beach who have went way and beyond to make sure our stay has been great I don’t no where the bad reviews come from but would like to say a big thank you to the manager I don’t no the lady name but asked me everyday if everything was ok also called me by my first name the cooks who cooked extra meals for my grandchildren which was no problem and also to joy and maradonna and Elizabeth lady making the omelettes always smiling sorry don’t no her name sorry don’t no the lady manager all I no it began with a S you all a credit to turtle beach so there was a few other ladies and gentlemen the door man hope to see u all again one day leaving beautiful Barbados soon

Nice hotel in well kept grounds. Nice food and good variety of snacks. The ice cream is lovely. There are alot of birds flying around the restaurants during the day time but night time they disapeared. We travelled with our autistic son and the hotel accomodated him very well,understanding his needs .All staff were friendly and if they could help in any way they would. Housekeeping very good. Lots of returning guests which tells you how much they liked it there. The pictures of the hotel are probably dated from when it was first opened because alot of the funiture outside etc isnt the same now,saying that I heard the hotel is due for a refurb in February 25. Hopefully it retains its relaxing vibe, Would I stay here again? Yes it was a pleasure to visit Turtle Beach Hotel and all the lovely people that are so polite and lovely to be around. Looking forward to a return visit in the future.
