For some reason l I cannot get my account up and I have wrote a lot of reviews. I am not Manchester Man , but I am going to use the only account I can access We only stayed at this hotel for 1 night (thankfully). We were staying in a different area of Barbados and we thought that we would have a night in the all inclusive hotel. The communication was non existent , we requested a early check in and they did not even respond to our request. We arrived early and they did allow us to use the facilities till our room was ready . We were asked if we wanted a rum punch as a welcome drink, which seemed to take forever to arrive! The room was not ready at 3.00pm and there appeared to be a lot of disorganisation. When we got into our room, I trod on a piece of glass in the bathroom . I was trying to get reception on the phone , but it didn’t work. I should have pressed 0 , opposed to pressing “reception” . The cocktail I wanted wasn’t available, they ran out of mango. The following morning I went to have one before we left, but again they didn’t have the ingredients . The bar service is slow. The bathroom was shoddy and the tap was lose. The lifts are dated . We were looking forward to having some entertainment, but it finished very early . The food was awful in the main restaurant , but we did manage to get into the Italian restaurant and that was passable . The hotel room had a fabulous view . This is not a four star hotel and we heard a lot of people complaining . There isn’t a indoor restaurant during the day and lots of birds were flying around the restaurant. They were eating food on tables. It just didn’t feel hygienic . I don’t like birds and to be fair a kind member of staff allowed us to eat in the coffee shop. The cakes and ice creams were delicious . I begrudge every penny that I gave this hotel . The receptionist did not even ask us if we had enjoyed our visit, I suspect that she already knew the answer. Or she may have wanted to get rid of us quickly , as another couple were complaining. You would need to pay me to stay there!
FAB staff that are friendly , helpful and well versed. Rooms are a great size with a decent outside balcony/terrace space. People have commented that the hotel is tired , well my house would be if 200+ people were traipsing through it on a daily basis !! . Good selection of food ( i wasn't a fan of mexican night, though). A la carte restaurant (pre-bookable) is good for an alternative food option Friday night trip to Oistins - 2 hrs is more than enough ! Would I go back - Yup . Would I recommend - Yup Barbados is a laid back country , so go, chill, relax and have fun ( 5 visits over the years) Ignore reviews and decide for yourself as one persons great is another's bad !!
I was really apprehensive when i had booked having read some of the reviews !!! We arrived with an open mind we are in Barbados after all (can only imagine how tough a small island has suffered through Covid )!!! We are just starting our second week !!! Well i can honestly say this hotel is a little gem … most staff have a lovely smile on their faces and can not do enough for you special shout out to Losanta 😊!! Losanta we have watched you with the visitors to the hotel !! You are courteous, polite, always smiling and have the most beautiful manners towards visitors ( keep it up you made a difference to so many of us - we can see you aiming high !!! Nigel you are also polite and very courteous and knowledgable for the visitors where you've helped us to decide on where to go and what to do on this beautiful island !! For any one worried about booking here its lovely !! Theres a lovely coffee shop and ice-cream parlour and sand trap snack bar - got to mention the lovely guy from the bar that comes on the beach to see if anyone needs a drink Food and choice is all day from breakfast to evening with a great choice to suit everyone !! Not short or fighting for sun-beds or loungers every day and right on the beach !! Right at the beginning of St Lawrence Gap !! We are in a deluxe room yes its a bit dated but who spends all their time in a room when you are on holiday !! Rooms are so clean !! So far can not fault here especially since hearing that a few people had transferred from other hotels and it makes you realise how lucky you've been !! The only thing i would say it would have been lovely to have a varied entertainment which is more family focused rather than singers most nights !! Well done Turtle Beach we are looking forward to our second week now and returning !!
