Good facilities, friendly staff, delicious food. Good location, away from the noise of "The Strip". We loved it.
We stayed at the Trump International hotel for one night as a way of varying our stay in Vegas. This hotel is much taller than many of the other hotels in the area and our room was located over 55 floors up, which gave incredible views of the strip and surrounding areas. There are rooms even higher than ours. Must be amazing views higher up. The hotel is cheaper than others located nearby but is still meant to be high quality. Check in was quick and simple. The two young men working at the check in desk were friendly and helpful. All other staff we met and spoke with were great and helpful too. The lobby is really very clean and beautiful looking. It made a nice change to not have to walk through a crowded and smokey casino to get around as this place doesn't seem to have a casino at all, which is fine for me. The location is a bit further up from the strip and takes about 10 minutes to walk to the top end of the strip where the casino hotels are. This would be a lovely hotel anywhere in the world. It stands out a bit in Vegas for not having shows, a casino etc depsite being very close to the strip. But that was fine for us. It has a pool, gym, restaurants etc so it was still very good. Our room was huge and spacious. The bed was great. The room had so many cupboards and drawers. I have never seen this in a hotel before. It appears that these rooms can be purchased as apartments so that would also explain the small kitchen included. No cooking items are provided but these are available on request. We had a fridge provided that was empty so this is a nice change to being filled with expensive minibar items that no one ever seems to buy. The bathroom was also enourmous with a huge jacuzzi bath tub. The provided toiletries were very nice also. Sadly, it wasn't all positive though. The furniture in the room was dated and quite badly scuffed etc. The A/C inlet was dusty and in need of a clean (see photo) We were provided with two small clear plastic cups (the style and size you would normally give to children) for any and all drinks we might have. No mugs or glassware. I don't remember having this in any other hotel, ever. This can't be good for the environment either, to have to throw away more plastic. An in room coffee machine was provided with a paper style takeaway cup and lid. This seemed like a great idea for those who wanted to start their day with a free drink when they go out. But we had only been given one cup and two lids. So this hadn't been checked properly. The views were affected by filthy windows which didn't appear to have been cleaned for some time. The soundproofing to other rooms seemed fine but to outside was shocking. As well as general noise that could be heard clearly, I was woken by a train going past at 0100hrs despite being nearly 60 floors above it and several hundred metres away. I could also hear police sirens which I could see were coming from the strip - again, some distance away. The bathroom had mould on the ceiling (photo) and also mould in the silicone around the shower cubicle. Under the bed was filthy with a thick layer of dust (photo), despite it being a high bed and it would be easy to clean underneath. The ironing board was broken and very dirty (photo) The toilet roll holder was broken and couldn't really stay in the position it was meant to be in. The shower didn't drain properly so when I went to have my shower, some hours after my partner, the first thing that happens is I step into her cold and stale water from earlier. In general, the whole room could do with a clean / refresh. Many of these issues could easily be rectified. I would consider staying here again in the future. But right now, this is not a 5 star hotel experience as advertised.
