The Sandpiper is discreetly one of the most awarded luxury hotels in Barbados. The hotel is situated on a beautiful sandy beach on the West Coast, gently lapped by turquoise waters and surrounded by lush tropical flora. Much of the Sandpiper’s charm and style can be attributed to Wayne and Karen Capaldi who manage the property with a meticulous attention to detail without sacrificing the relaxed manner of the Caribbean. Combined with their staff’s enthusiasm for pampering their guests, The Sandpiper welcomes repeat guests year after year.

We had the most amazing time in this beautiful sea view suite at The Sandpiper hotel . The Curlew suite is on the first floor, has the most amazing sea views and every comfort you would expect and more. A good size plunge pool with lounge chairs sits proudly at the side. A very spacious outside verandah with dining table, outside bar area equip with fridge, sink, kettle cutlery, crockery. The inside is very spacious, air conditioned with a huge sitting room and leading into a very comfortable bedroom, dressing room and enormous bathroom. Having a sundowner or an early morning cup of tea watching the lapping waves below is utter bliss. What an experience. The staff are so friendly, and we were looked after so well. If you can pull yourself away from the beautiful suite there are two pools in the hotel, Harold's Bar and restaurant and a further restaurant for breakfast and dinner. Breakfast has a huge array of choice as does both menus. The juice bar has a special each day and the beach awaits with comfortable lounge chairs, umbrellas and a water sports hut. The Spa at Coral Reef their sister hotel is a 5 min hop away and is highly recommended with a very good choice of treatments in Balinese style.

Excellent stay in an immaculate ocean-view suite. You could hear the ocean and the frogs (so if you don’t like that, bring earplugs!). Impeccable housekeeping and food unobtrusive staff. Breakfast was OK, very English—we didn’t come for the food, though! Coffee was hot and there was a large variety to choose from. The owner was friendly. The front desk helped us arrange a spa appointment as well as transport to and from the CropOver parade. The beach is uncrowded and mostly free of people trying to sell you things, although some people occasionally float by. Excellent snorkeling right off the hotel beach. A relaxing, lovely high-end stay.

I have been very privileged to have stayed at many of the worlds leading hotels over many years. The Sandpiper Hotel is among the very best. The simple reason is that what makes a hotel is the people that make the hotel work. I would like to mention Jermal, Nicole, David and all at the restaurant team, Samantha and David on front desk, Wayne in the bar, and the legends of Colin and Harold of Harolds Bar( whom knows everyone on the Island, and if he does not, they know him!),and by no means least,Ken Flockhart the calm and kind General Manager delivering the Capaldi family ethos. The longevity and retention of staff at this location is a testament of the values of the hotel. We were made to feel very welcome, learning just to relax and enjoy life. I extend my thanks to all and all the memories. Very Best wishes, The Chawla Family..
