I did a staycation with my fanily to celebrate my wife's birthday. After we checked out and went home, my wife realised that she had left her diamond earrings in the room. We contacted the hotel and managed to get her earrings back. Special thanks to Dickson and Aunty May from housekeeping for their help.

Stayed early Dec 2022 in the lowest category room with a view over the Kallang basin. The room was 1303 on the 13th floor. Pros: -service is very professional and polished at this hotel. (more polished than say st regis, just have to compare as i had stayed in that hotel prior to the stay here) -check in man, Kanna helped us with luggage and sent it up to the room. he is amazing so nice and helpful and friendly. -We waited around 15 minutes to check-in as there were long lines on Saturday afternoon at 3pm. On the table on the side of the check-in area they had water, lollipops, mentos, chips that anyone could take. -room was big. -room had a nice view over the Kallang river and basin and National stadium and Golden mile complex and Tanjung Rhu area. -bed is big and comfortable with 4 pillows and 2 smaller pillows. -power outlets are in the draws to the side of the bed and there is also a wireless charger dock with a radio/clock i think that was. The light switches are on either side too. -there is a couch to the right of the room which is long and comfortable and a small table with a chair. -they had fruit and mineral water (acqua panna) and sparkling water (pellegrino) on the table. -they have a big desk facing the window with hand sanitizer and alcohol wipes and pen and notepad with telephone and charging point and hdmi to tv port. -tv is to the left in the middle of the room (which was a tiny bit of a con to me as i like when the tv is facing directly in front of the bed so you don't have to twist around) with coffee machine and 6 bottles of water and tea selection from ronnefeldt and dilmah and some chinese brand. I had stayed at st regis tanglin before this hotel and the twg tea they had there was a better selection, just saying. The room also had coffee pods and coffee sachets from nestle. They also have glassware and an ice bucket thing and a kettle. -they have an area to put luggage that also has a room safe and robe and 2 extra pillows and a torch and a place to hang clothes. -bathroom has a bigger bathtub than st regis though and it reclines a bit more with a nice view to the outside and some soap but i liked the smell of the st regis soaps better. Although props for the whole big glass bowl of bath salts that i had requested and was brought over in 5 minutes. -a big bathroom sink but only 1 sink but lots of space to the sides of it. -shower space with rain shower and toilet with a separate door. -the hotel has a sauna/steam room which wasn't operational for the day due to some malfunction which they fixed later on and got to use it. They also have a jacuzzi and a room with recliner chairs that vibrate and showers in the spa room. This space is open until 9pm. you don't have to pay extra for these facilities. it's a nice space. -gym open 24 hours. -large swimming pool -Bernice at breakfast time helped with bread/pastry selection, she was very nice and helpful as i had some intolerances. -breakfast selection is bigger here than at st regis but you do have to ask for tea or coffee unlike st regis where they come to you and ask. although it was really busy so i understand. they provided me with ginger tea which was nice. -wifi very fast. tested just by mobile phone at 93mbps. -overall rating 4.65/5 Cons: -the fruit and water setup when we arrived in the room was supposed to be for another guest as there was a letter addressed to that person but i think they swapped their room and the guy who helped us with luggage said it's fine for us to take. However the grapes and nectarine were bruised and battered and a bit rotten but the pear/apple and orange was fine. -swimming pool doesn't have much of a view, just some greenery around it, just something to note. -lights are dimmer in ritz calrton than at st regis where you can light the room up a lot brighter. -the room we had was next to the electrical room and telephone closet and it makes a loud high pitched noise when that door is open but when it is closed it's a lot less but there is a faint sound that is perceivable. -i asked for an ice pack as i had fallen on my butt at snow city earlier in the day and it took over 30 minutes to provide one. -when trying the tv remote and it didn't work, after calling it took 30 minutes to get someone to come to the room and it turned out it needed new batteries. -just something to note, not a big deal but room door can't stay open as in you can't push it and it stays open it will close every time behind you. -during breakfast time at the porridge station, the man serving the porridge was very rude. i was waiting my turn and the guest in front who apparently wasn't ordering fast enough for him made him irritated and he started clicking his fingers at her, i thought that was very rude. Also when it was my turn to order the rice porridge and i asked him if it contained soy as i have intolerance to it, he responded by saying huh? soya? i mean he really should calm down and not be so agitated, it wasn't like i was asking anything that difficult. just be nicer please. The rest of the breakfast staff were good. -mrt at promenade is a little bit more difficult than necessary to navigate too, through the back entrance etc millenia walk but it's fine overall st regis or ritz? i'd give the edge to the ritz and in some aspects a bigger margin. so i would recommend staying here if you want a nice more modern style comfortable room with a nice view and professional and polished service and a better breakfast selection. although it does come at a higher $ tag.
