Excellent service and afternoon tea is a must. Shalim really took good care of us at the Palm Court. The food was delicious and very filling. Make a reservation in advance and order the Plaza Signature Tea with a glass of champagne and enjoy the ambiance.

This is a place we have wanted for a very long time to stay and finally had a chance. We usually don’t spend this much on hotels so when we had only a single night in NYC before a trip to upstate NY we decided to splurge. There is only one word to describe our stay: splendid. We arrived at 7 am just off the red eye from LA. I asked the checkin lady if we could possibly get into our room. Not only did she pleasantly give us our room cards but also upgraded us to a king mini suite. Room: classy, gorgeous and spacious. The bed was sumptuous and the bathroom was huge w beautiful fixtures and tiling. The only drawback was there was only one sink. Public spaces: the iconic palm court is still there but the oak bar is closed and only open for special events. They really should bring it back. We had a memorable lunch there many years ago and I can’t imagine why they wouldn’t want to use that beautiful space. The lobby restaurant feels a bit pedestrian and not as high end as it should. Location: can’t be beat.

I visited the Palm Court for afternoon tea, and the experience was beyond my expectations. The reason for the outing was for my 30th birthday, and I was celebrating with my parents. Shalim was our waiter, and he made my time at the Palm Court extremely memorable. He went out of his way to add a special touch to celebrating my birthday, with cake and a cute birthday girl sash. Aside from the spectacular hospitality, the Central Park Tea and the offerings were delightful, and I felt as if I was transported back to London. My cousin from London gifted the experience for my birthday celebration. I must say, her intention was for me to experience London afternoon tea in NYC, and this definitely accomplished that goal. Thank you, Shalim and the Palm Court team, for your stellar hospitality, attention to detail, and for making my birthday so special. I feel extremely grateful for this experience. 🥰
