First of all, location in midtown is really important and The Michelangelo is in a perfect location that is close to just about everything and the road noise is surprisingly quiet for a mid-town hotel. Secondly, the entire staff is very friendly, the rooms are larger than many hotels in the area and appear to have been renovated. We stayed in a King Suite which had a powder room in addition to the master bath which was really nice and the bed was very comfortable. Having a separate bedroom from the living area was also great. The only downside is that there is not much of a bar or restaurant, but there are of course plenty of options just outside the hotel. In the end this is a great value for the money compared to other high-end hotels and it has maintained its historical charm which adds to the ambiance of the hotel. We will definitely stay here next time we return to NYC.

Arriving was great; the valet parking is so important for those not of the New York persuasion. That was the last I saw of the Mustang for over three days! Check In was straight forward, having booked & paid several weeks in advance. The In Brief could have been better handled, not leading to so many frustrations later in the stay. A Junior Suite is the very least you want to stay in (it is a normal sized hotel room). Ice; the icemaker was out on the third & fifth floors and i was informed "You go seven ice there". It was. It took two request to get towels back to the room & the room itself was only made up once in the three night stay! (No the "Do Not Disturb sign" was NOT on the door!!). The room & bathroom were both clean, but again glasses were only replaced once. Come time to retrieve the Mustang I did think that a 40+ minute wait was excessive. Did we complain? No...Just be aware that this is an expensive property with minimal facilities & what could only be termed understaffing. Look else where to spend your $1,800+USD for three nights.

Excellent hotel with spacious, well appointed rooms. The bellmen and other hotel staff were very friendly and helpful. The location near 5th Avenue and close to, but not too close, to Times Square was perfect. Could walk to the theater and get to restaurants, shopping, and the park very easily. We will certainly stay here again.
