The Lombardy New York

The staff were not friendly at all and it almost felt they were not please with us having us there. We booked this a long time ago and I told them it was for our 5th anniversary and they just didn’t know about this when we arrived although they replied to my messages in booking.com VERY IMPORTANT THING TO KNOW: all rooms are privately owned so each room is different, so it’s not an hotel per se and for sure it’s not a 4 stars hotel. The pictures do not reflect the rooms. We originally got assigned to a room and we asked to be changed to another room because it had a lot of noise coming not only from the street but from a ventilation of the building. Yes, windows are not double glazed. We spoke with the staff and they told us we should wait until the next morning but they told us that this is NY. Which is something ridiculous to say because we have stayed in Vegas and we couldn’t hear anything. We could not sleep. The next morning they moved us to another room but the this new room had noise coming from the ventilation too. But because we saw this issue was not going to be resolved we accepted this room. On top of that, people would slam their doors at any time in the night and it would wake us up. There isn’t any noise isolation whatsoever so you can hear next door's toilet and shower. We also saw some cockroaches in our floor Before the check out day we spoke with a lady from the help desk telling her all what I just wrote and we were requesting that the minimum we would expect is to have a FREE late checkout.She told us she would leave da note to the manager. The morning of the checkout I call the service desk and he wasn’t even aware of this. We asked him for a late check out and he agreed, but then after leaving the hotel they charged us USD19.39 for what I am assuming is the late checkout. I AM WAITING FOR A REFUND FOR THIS. THIS IS THE LEAST THING THEY COULD GIVE US FOR FREE AFTER 10 TERRIBLE NIGHTS. What a terrible hotel and staff. Avoid at all costs

Location was perfect for our stay, staff were all very friendly. Hotel was sufficient for my needs. Kitchenette was essential for my morning tea and coffee.

Everything was great The staff was very helpful, nice and friendly, and the room fantastic! The location of the hotel was perfect in order to visit NewYork, really we enjoyed this stay!
