The Lanesborough used to be the best afternoon tea in London Sadly not any longer. The service although very pleasant were not attentative and do not warrant the high service charge, the sandwiches were not special as they used to be with bland choice of bread and not a good selection. No little added specials as there used to be. Wrote a very polite email and that wasn't even acknowledged.

Visiting the Library Bar at the Lanesborough is a bit like spending time at a wealthy Aunt’s house. The library is decadent, but cosy and welcoming. The fire was roaring, a pianist played, the crockery was characterful and we met the hotel cat on our way out. Major congratulations and thanks to the staff who were playful, kind and extremely professional. They listened to us, and created an experience that was a treat that outshone our expectations. The cocktail barman spent time finding out what we each liked, and created a personalised trio of drinks that were works of art and certainly packed a punch. Thank you so much - a great staff team!

The hotel was massive hotel, and sublime privacy and security. The staff was impeccable with spectacular amenities. Knowledgeable staff about every subject. Iconic hotel with a refined conservative clientele. I visited other 5 star hotels during my holiday, and The Lanesborough was the most elegant and quintessential British luxury.
