The Island House is a lovely hotel and the staff are all very friendly including the taxi driver that’s works with the hotel. A few points however: 1: We had two different rooms as we knew when we made our booking. However, in all honesty, the garden view room was better than the junior suite on a number of front. 2: Junior suite was the exact same as the garden view except for the patio. However the patio was on top of the pool and noisy with kids running around. Hardly worth the $$$ extra. 3: Junior Suite - we could hear what sounded like washing machines throughout the early hours of the morning so it was not a peaceful sleep. 4: Small point …when we checked in they provided an apple & orange in the room. Come on guys ….at this price point you should provide fresh every day. Same point on the shampoo & conditioner …not replenished every day. 5: Guests should also be aware that it’s on the take off path from the airport which is a few miles away. However, there is a constant flow of smaller aircraft that pass at under 1000 ft from the resort. 6: The beach club that they are associated with is not the same level as the Hotel. There are not enough sun loungers available on the beach for busy periods and the beach beds are not of the same quality. It’s very remote ….which we liked. Would recommend but unlikely to return to it.

This hotel is definitely off the beaten touristy path and still a short ride away from the action. Paradise is how I describe this small private resort. The rooms are spacious and exceptionally cleaned. The entire staff caters to your every need, its like you are a guest in their home. The food at the restaurants is delicious. Look for Sonny if you go to the bar off the lobby, he will choose a yummy island drink for you to enjoy. The spa is so relaxing, I love their soaps, oils and lotions. We can't wait to go back!
