The Hoxton Southwark

I really loved the hotel overall. The rooms were nice, the public areas are very nice. The breakfast is a la carte very nice. The seabird is super nice. The price/value is quite good and the location is good as you can get anywhere quickly even by foot (as the local station Southwark occasionally likes to close early...). One drawback though, the Hoxton is one of those hotels where you are not able to open your bedroom window, not even the slightest gap. So after a few days it started to feel claustrophobic and I was super happy to leave the hotel in the mornings to get fresh air. I also felt that my sleep was not getting better and my eyes dried up in the morning due to the dry air, even though I kept chasing the air con settings. I wish I would have just been able to open the window a tiny little bit to let some outside air into the room and ventilate... I also felt, especially when returning after short periods of time, that the room did smell as it wasn't possible to ventilate. So, from now on, I will check in more detail if the room windows can be opened... as I am no fan. So, all in all, great hotel, great room without outside air... but if thats what you want, then it's not for you. Unfortunately for that one reason I will also not be able to return. Many thanks.

We really enjoyed our stay. The staff is very welcoming, the food and drinks were lovely, the room was spacious and clean with a great layout and decoration. Over all a wonderful stay!

My wife stayed at the Hoxton last year and enjoyed her stay. As a result, we chose the Hoxton for our vacation. We found the service to be great as everyone was friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. We also found the restaurant convenient after returning from a daylong walking tour of London. Had I known how small our room was I would have selected another. Fortunately we did not spend much time in our room as we had things scheduled each day. I would recommend the Hoxton but caution to check to make sure what room is being booked.
