In its early years, the hotel played host to countless icons: Marilyn Monroe, Charlie Chaplin, Clark Gable and Carole Lombard, among others. It’s served as inspiration for filmmakers and creatives who have set their movies within this storybook backdrop.
In 1988, famed British painter David Hockney completed a multi-million dollar mural on the bottom of the Tropicana Pool. Both the hotel and the pool have been designated Historic-Cultural Monuments by the City’s Cultural Heritage Commission.

Roosevelt is indeed a splendid experience. It takes me back to the 50’s vibe or earlier with great staff, all smile and accomodating to your needs. The valet parking guys are awesome as well. The food in 25degree is a plus! I had fun with family…worth coming back! Oh the shower room is best, simple, roomy.. the sheets are egyptian cotton! Hey dont expect modern facility, the simpler the better, if not best.
