In its early years, the hotel played host to countless icons: Marilyn Monroe, Charlie Chaplin, Clark Gable and Carole Lombard, among others. It’s served as inspiration for filmmakers and creatives who have set their movies within this storybook backdrop.
In 1988, famed British painter David Hockney completed a multi-million dollar mural on the bottom of the Tropicana Pool. Both the hotel and the pool have been designated Historic-Cultural Monuments by the City’s Cultural Heritage Commission.

I cannot say enough great things about my stay at the Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel. From the moment we met Rocco at the door until the time we checked out, everything was absolutely perfect. The rooms were clean and spacious, the pool and lobby were gorgeous and the staff was incredibly friendly and accommodating. Absolutely will be back next time I’m in LA!
What a pleasure to find my second home at The Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel. I always feel good there when I arrive. The location is perfect. In the heart of Hollywood, you just have to cross the street to be in the action. The room was very spacious and very cozy. The bed was so comfortable and the bathroom was very practical too. The staff was friendly and helpful in the entire hotel. At the pool, it was always good to take a nap and swim in the warm water with background music. Alain at the pool was very kind with me, very professional and friendly. Thank you to Tiffany Mirander (Director of Guest Relation) for her warm welcome. She was so kind with me and very caring. Can’t wait to come back here soon.
Elevated surroundings inside & out, with wonderful architectural details & vintage vibes throughout the hotel. Met with pleasant welcome by the bellman, quiet attention by staff at poolside, polite cleaning & service staff throughout hotel. Nicholas the concierge was very pleasant & attentive & Juan from Room Service was extremely pleasant & provided excellent service. Rochelle, a security guard, was more like the hotel ambassador, going above & beyond to provide us with thoughtful, attentive service - she was a delight! Cocktails & sea bass tacos at poolside were excellent, & the avocado toast, delivered by Juan in Room Service was fresh & delicious. We plan to stay at the Roosevelt a third time our next visit.
