If I can give this property a 0 I would so I gave it a 1. I’ve stayed at the grove resort several times in the past when the resort first opened. This used to be a very beautiful place for families. Now this place is very much run down and dirty. Walking through the hallway to get to the room you will see stained carpet and broken tile throughout the building. There was missing plug covers as well as the smell of heavy mildew. When we walked into the room, the first thing I saw was dust covering the ceiling and wall. My father-in-law attempted to wash clothes in the washing machine and it was not working and we had to call maintenance to repair it. The vent cover behind the front door was also disgusting. The TV in the living room as well as the guest TV did not work and we also had to call about that. The light switch also did not work in one of the guest bedrooms. There was no linen available for the pull out sofa as well. The freezer door would not work, and I also had to clean the dining room table because it was filthy and you can tell that it was not properly cleaned in between customers. There was also the smell of heavy marijuana in the parking garage. The grove used to be a very beautiful resort and was a go to for my family for the past several years but I have no plans ever returning to this property. I’ve recommended the grove to several of my coworkers. Now I’m very embarrassed about my recommendation. stay at your own risk.
I went on a solo trip to Orlando to see Disney World and Universal Studios. I had a great time. I stayed at the Grove hotel and was very pleased. The hotel had daily shuttles that could be booked for both Disney & Universal sites. It was very convenient. The shuttles had to be booked in advance, but it was pretty straight forward after a few false starts of remembering to accept a payment of Zero for each trip ( there & back, and by date). For some events I came back to the hotel by taxi. Other people used Uber or Lyft. I actually found these very difficult to manage in the USA with my UK mobile. Be aware that data will cost you so much more if you have a UK mobile. The hotel was not that far from the parks, but the shuttle times were very limited. Just be aware if you want to arrive early ( for Rope Drop events) then a taxi may be quicker. I used the Valencia Restaurant, one of two restaurants on site at the hotel. The food was very good and extremely plentiful. There was also a small shop where you can buy many basics. They fresh coffee was delicious. ( A Grab & Go place) I also used the Spa on one day. This gave me a break , and a chance to treat myself. Very big thank you to Matthew who gave me a wonderful back & shoulders massage and to Vicky who helped me relax with a facial and then a pedicure. I felt so chilled out. Would recommend the hotle. The rooms rooms were huge, with a kitchen/ dining area. very comfortable.
Shout out to Sebastian thank you so much for for serving us at our table for thanksgiving it was a pleasure meeting you . Also want to thank Ricardo who helped us find our way around bc frankly I was getting very frustrated this place is not easy to navigate your way around !
