Might have been the Grand in the 80s round it was but not anymore this doesn't deserve a luxury rating. Only putting 1 star as it won't allow me to put 0. This was meant to be a surprise birthday party for my husband but unfortunately that got ruined by the Grand trying to take the money out, even though we booked it as pay at the property. Try to ring the reservation department to try to clarify what was going on and spoke to someone called And Sanchez who was obnoxious and not very helpful at all. Well we arrived on Wednesday to be greeted by steps for the front entrance, so my disabled wife in her electric wheelchair had to go around the back for the side entrance made to feel like she was equipment and not a guest. APPALING So anytime we arrived back at the hotel to get in, someone had to go round to the back side of the hotel and open the entrance. Or I had to do it and let my wife in appalling treatment for disabled people. When we finally got indoors we noticed the stains on the carpet, it was paint peeling off the walls or the brass had all smudge mark's the windows were all stained. Like this place hasn't been cleaned in years. Got in the room and only one of the windows had a handle so if you were claustrophobic you were screwed, try to run a bath and the hot water tap only allowed A trickle of water out so you'll have to wait about three quarters of an hour for the bath to even fill up. For a so-called luxury hotel this left a lot to be desired doesn't even deserve to be a grand or a luxury it's even worse than a Premier Inn. Will never be staying here again, staff were not helpful at all, worst hotel I stayed in in all my life. Really made me feel that if we were posh people or extremely Rich, we would have been treated totally differently. Just because we were a normal working class couple disabled, as well we've been treated horribly I wouldn't recommend this hotel to anyone not even my worst enemy.
The hotel is not clean my room smells nasty. The bath taps don't work with hot water my husband could not have a bath thay ruined my husbands birthday the place needs a good clean my room smells bad musty and the hotel is not good at all there was black hair on my bed am never comeing here again as am in a wheelchair I have to go in a different door and no one ones let me in the hotel my husband had to go round the back to help me never again I'll never stay again avoid like the plague don't do it
On the 5th floor but directly above the venue room.Reported noise level as it was drowning out our TV. Basically told tough it would end at 10pm,couldn’t sleep until then. Focus of hotel on the event attendees, everyone else not important.
