Took a nice family trip. Was there for Music Festival. Was great to be home. The service was awesome, and the people were super friendly. Its a short Taxi ride to anywhere you want to go. I will definately book this hotel again for my return trips. My daughters loved the pool.
If you are looking for a low-key relaxing week on a great property-book here! The staff is top notch from the check-in to the check out we only experienced fabulous service and kind friendly exchanges. Room was a two bedroom/two bath on the first floor Palmetto house. (bad knees and no elevators so it was requested) Room was well appointed, clean and the furnishing were in great shape. Bed was really comfortable. Mid week housekeeping did a great job. We watched the sunrise over the Atlantic most mornings from our patio. The main pool and north pool were open and we had zero issues finding chairs. The beach has plenty of huts as well. Never had a problem finding space. Beach was well maintained and there was not a seaweed issue while we were there. The south pool, closest to our room, was being renovated but it looked as if it would be finished soon. The pizza shack was outstanding! We also ate at the pool restaurant/bar for lunch. Burgers and fries were tasty and service was great. Yes, a little pricy as others have stated. Marriott burgers and fries are $22.00. Highly recommend Cathy's, Boozies, Marshall's and Ram's grocery store. All in walking distance. The grocery store supplies go quick so shop in the morning. Huge shout out to Craig at the front. He went above and beyond to help us with taxis, tours and actually any thing we asked. Troy was wonderful too. We did the all island tour except did not include the fort. (knees again) Well worth it.
We stayed at The Marriott's St. Kitts Beach Club for 9 days, over New Year's. We had an excellent stay. Our Villa was clean and the view from our Ocean Front Villad was spectacular. The best part about our stay was the Staff. Candace Walker (General Manager), and her leadership team, should take great pride in their team. Everyone from the Housekeeping Staff, the Gardeners, the Bellhops, the Front Desk Satff and everyone in the restaurants were friendly, greeting us at every step and offering assistance. We dined at every restaurant on the property and never had a bad meal. La Cucina was our favorite restaurant on the property. We did a number of tours, the Full Island Tour, The St. Kitts Scenic Railway and Nevis Tour. All were excellent but if you choose The Full Island Tour you really don't need to do The St. Kitts Scenic Railway as they cover much of the same ground. The Nevis Tour, Water Taxi over to Nevis, then a van tour the island, ws educational as we visited the Alexander Hamilton Birthplace and Museum. On St. Kitts we dined at number of restaurants in-town and around the island. Boozies Beach Bar and Restaurant was excellent for Lobster and Arthur's was an excellent choice for Fish and Lobster Dishes. A couple of things to know before going to St. Kitts, Taxi Fares (no Ubers), are regulated and very reasonable. For two of us it was $20 from the airport, plus $1 per suitcase. Going out to dinner it was typically $10 to the beachfront strip where there are a number of Bars and Restaurants and $20 to the main downtown area. If you visit during holidays, do inquire before going. St Kitts holiday schedules are much more liberal than the United States. We found that the New Year's Holiday was January 1,2 and 3. This did affect some of our plans as most off-property businesses, restaurants, etc., were closed during these days. There is no ATM in the lobby or hallways. The onky ATMs are in the Casino which opens at 6PM. However is you ask at the Front Desk, they will phone the Casino and a staff member will allow you entrance to access the ATM. This is important if you're leaving on an early morning tour and need cash. U.S. Currency was accepted everywhere and U.S. Currency was received in change everywhere we went. Overall we truly enjoyed our time on St. Kiits and Nevis. If you haven't visited, we would highly recommend that you do !
