Following nine months of refurbishment the prestigious 5 star hotel Sina Villa Medici has a splendid new look. The entire hotel has been renovated and has become part of Marriott’s Autograph Collection as of 2017. This handsome heritage building, respecting the charm and the history of yore, continues to attract illustrious visitors as it has down the years.
On the ground floor the hall, the gallery and the lounge bar now have many 20th-century objets d’art, like the beautiful photographs representing Catherine de’ Medici and some details from paintings in the Uffizi Gallery created by the artist Marco Lanza for the Sina Villa Medici. The hotel, set in an incomparable lush oasis, has a garden and a swimming pool right in the heart of Florence.

We enjoyed our stay at the Villa Medici. From the very large, well appointed room, the the coziness of the bar and the incredibly gracious, warm and accomodating staff. The hotel is close enough to the main attractions but far enough away that it’s peaceful and quiet.

Room 534 in the Sina Villa Medici, autograph collection by Marriott in Florence Italy provides an experience a guest will never forget. Let’s start with first impression of the property overall. The location on the outer edge of the city center offers about 10 mins walk to train station. Also provides some space from the busy 24/7 going ons of this one of a kind city. The staff is what you would expect of a hotel of this quality. Trained well and conscious of guest needs. Fernando runs a tight ship, respectfully he is also welling to step in to support guest. Some minor coordinations issues were easily sorted. Harry’s bar is quite a nice place to have a cocktail or two. The bar favors and snacks are also very elegant and tasty. Breakfast was great. The room …. 534…. A number that will stay with me forever. Walking in to the room you will see a classic hotel seating area / bedroom arrangement. Welcome gift of fresh fruit and wine. The style is classical architecture and design. The real wow moment is when you walk on to the terrace. You are immediately overcome by the wonderful view of Florence. The scale of the terrace challenges the room likely in square footage and then the hidden gem a full bubbling whirlpool. Even on a chilly January night the temperature of the hot tub paired with the view and a glass of wine would make an unforgettable experience. Excellent job team. Many thanks to the cleaning staff as well especially Noelvis.

I had the pleasure to stay here on some cold sunny days in Florence. The first impression is the grandeur of the palace itself, steeped in history. The refreshing surprise was the warm welcome and genuine smiles. My room was spacious, silent and appointed with all the amenities, the highlight surely the view over the monuments of Florence. I didn’t have a chance to try the restaurant but Harry’s bar was ideal, with cocktails made to perfection. The location could not be better, just a 7 minute walk to the station or to the main sights. To the manager Fernando Pane, Rachele Liafas and the wonderful staff, well done!
