We went to Marbella for the first time in March 23. On arrival at this hotel it looked quite nice. We booked a seaview, so was given a 6th floor room with a very nice view. . The room was clean and tidy but a little dated with some paint chips on the walls. But it soon became apparent that it’s a dog friendly hotel, lots of them! And allowed in rooms. We even found a pool of dog wee on floor of the corridor outside our room with its owner wiping it with toilet paper under his foot. I don’t blame the hotel for this, but it’s them that allow dogs. I personally don’t want to be paying for a hotel room that dogs have been using. Perhaps they should keep one floor as dog friendly? . It does seem that a little dog is a fashion accessory in Marbella tho. There was also an issue with a very undercooked chicken snack just after we arrived. But they were very apologetic and refunded it immediately. So we just decided to avoid the snack bar. . The room temperature was 25oC and a little uncomfortable to sleep in. But told they won’t put on the aircon so early in the season. . I have been to worse hotels, but many better too.
Full of dogs and even seen peeing in the corridors which isn’t very hygienic not even restricted to certain rooms they are allowed on every floor! Was served raw chicken when ordered a snack from the bar. Very expensive bar and they have a vending machine selling drinks including water 5€ for a bottle of water to take back to the room 65cents in the supermarket why charge your guests so much.
Check in was quick and efficient. We asked for a high floor which we got . Beds were big and comfortable, shower was great and good standard of cleaning. Breakfast was very good. We had 2 issues with our stay, although it was March it was 28 degrees and the hotel would not switch on the air con. The room was very hot so we had to sleep with the door wide open which was noisy so our sleep was disturbed. On our final night a group of Spanish directly below us had a gathering on their balcony the noise was horrendous. We had an early pick up at 8am and needed to get some sleep. Security came to our room and agreed it was too loud and he would go to their room. After 10 mins no change we phoned reception and they said they had tried phoning but no one is picking up!! I went to reception was given another room however it was still on the same side and could still clearly hear them making a lot of noise. Eventually we were given a room on the opposite side which was much quieter and we also discovered the fan in this room went about double the speed of the one in 709 which obviously wasn’t working properly no wonder it was stifling. I think the hotel security need to deal with noise issues better. It’s not fair to expect other guests to move their room. If guests make this noise and don’t pay attention to a warning then they should be told to get out! We return at end of May and will give it once last chance as it is a nice hotel but hopefully we will have a better experience!
