Welcome to Rovaniemi, the Official Hometown of Santa Claus. For every day of the year there are plenty of things to do to fill your days: outdoor activities, guided excursions, Lappish culture, art and entertainment. The two grand rivers of Lapland: Kemijoki and Ounasjoki connect at a stone-throws away from our hotel. River boat cruises, water jets, stand up paddling, fishing and canoeing are some of the great activities to try!
The vast forests and wilderness areas are easily accessible with guided and fully-equipped excursions: in the winter by snowmobile, snowshoes, husky or reindeer sleigh rides and in summer and autumn by for example fat bikes, quad bikes, hiking. Santa Claus Village at the Arctic Circle is only 10 minutes drive away, or you can hop on the Santa’s Express Bus to take you there.

This hotel is in a good location but of poor quality. The hotel is dated and lacklustre, breakfast is of poor quality and choice and dinner even worse if on the included buffet, we ate out on the last 2 nights out of 4 as need a good meal!! Bar is ok bud we got removed at 10pm as had a child 😡😡😡 As did most of the families leaving the bar a little empty and all of us stood outside with drinks in our hands Much better places to stay than here

A bit disappointed because the Santa factor was so small. It could have been an extraordinary experience, but it was nothing special. Nice breakfast! Rooms and beds were okey. But not worth the money! We thought it should be more Christmas decorations, a big Santa in the reception, staff wearing red Santa hats etc. More Christmas feeling! There is a potential for making it more special with that name; Santa Claus hotel! Now it was nothing special!

We stayed here for 3 nights as a family to visit Lapland for what was a really magical trip. Unfortunately the lowlight was the accommodation at Santa Claus hotel where we stayed in a tired hotel with staff who where not full of the Christmas spirit. The biggest issue was the heating in our room which despite it being -20 and below outside kept our room at 25+ no matter where the thermostat was set, on raising this to reception we were told it was to keep the pipes from freezing and given 2 fans which were amongst 10plis being delivered to other guests who had the same issue at the same time as our complaint. The breakfast and dinner included where of very poor quality, both selection and seating environment. One night the lights in our area were switched off, when we asked for them to be turned back on it was due to being too bright for some diners and an industrial rechargeable spot light was placed on our table as a proposed solution!!!? The rooms are basic but functional, lack of toiletries which you would expect. One of the two lifts was broken the last two days of our stay. Location for Rovaniemi is very good however. The hotel by no means spoilt our trip but when your paying this much - there must be better options?
