This is our third trip to The Sands at Grace Bay in Turks and Caicos. It started with great service from Udelka with reservations. She took such care and interest in insuring we had a great room at an affordable price. I hope the company knows what a gem they have in her! She is one if the main reasons we return to the Sands each visit! Upon arrival Mechelle was extremely efficient and friendly. Seamlessly assisting several guests at once. Then Bernard, who we remembered from a former visit when he first started, helped us with our luggage. He was all smiles and as friendly as we remembered him. Hemingways restaurant at the Sands has wonderful staff as well Tracy went over and above to make us feel special, we remembered her from past trip as well! And Erica provided great service! All the staff is very friendly and helpful. Rooms and location are great! But it is the people who make the experience!! Highly recommend.
I thoroughly enjoyed this property!! My 2 bedroom suite was a garden view but I could see the ocean from the appropriately furnished screened in patio. The room was sufficiently appointed with clean furniture and fixtures. I found the bed and pillows to be comfortable. Staff was friendly and welcoming, and went above and beyond to rectify any issues (odor, tv, toilet). They also helped with restaurant recommendations and transportation. The on property restaurant, Hemingway’s, served delicious meals but I enjoyed dining at the sister property, The Palm, even more. The shuttle service, bicycles and tennis courts were a plus. The property is walkable distance to downtown where there are more shops and restaurants. I had the most amazing spa service in my room since the Spatropique space at the hotel was being renovated. The property is well manicured and maintained daily. The pool wasn’t always free of debris but I attributed that to fallen leaves and body oils. I would not hesitate to stay here again!! Shakera, Rose, Myshell, Sharon were great!!
Resort is, I believe, a condo complex. The grounds are beautiful and overlook the Caribbean and the Turks and Caicos barrier reef. Here there are numerous opportunities for ideal snorkeling in crystal clear water. Rooms appear to be available in various sizes from efficiencies to spacious suites. All have screened porches many of which have an open view of the Caribbean. There’s one large pool with several smaller pools connected by small canals. Adjacent to the grounds is the Hemingway Restaurant with a menu and cost typical for the region. The only downside is that the maintenance of the rooms is somewhat neglected. Our unit had minor broken bathroom fixtures which were little more than annoying but not to be expected at a resort at this price level
