Visit was on in May. 24. Weather was beautiful and we had 7 lovely sunny days. The hotel distance to the beach was good. About 25 large depth flights of steps to get to get there with a short walk to the sea. Beach was spacious with sun bed hire at 8 euros per person per day and the same cost for 1 parasol. Factor this into your budget as we co old not get a sun bed by the pool on any of our 7 days due to towels being laid on them very early on. Plenty of small shops either side of the beach. One side had quite a steep hill to climb and the other was a flat journey. The sea was cold and so was the pool at the hotel. Far too cold to use comfortably. Hotel food was good. I suffer with tummy trouble at home but didn’t have any problems at all. Entertainment was OK, but difficult to see unless you’re there early to get a seat, as the room has lots of vertical beams blocking your view. Hotel room was Ok. Think we were on the 5th floor. The first night we had water issues as the shower would go hot and cold. It was pretty awful and when it went hot it would scold you. This was very dangerous and apparently after discussing with other hotel guests, it was a common fault with the hotel in most of the rooms. We were two rooms away from the lift and because of the fact that all the corridors are tiled the sound of footsteps, lift door opening and people being loud, we had a very disturbed first night. The second evening our toilet stopped working and we still had water temperature issues even though we had reported it. Nobody came to fix the toilet that evening so we ended up requesting a bucket from reception so we could fill it up from the shower and use that to flush the toilet. There was no forthcoming resolution from reception and the bucket idea was mine. So here we are in 2024 and the large hotel had nobody to fix the toilet at that time of night because the maintenance people had gone home and we had to suggest to them, can we have a bucket? If not, I’m not sure what we were supposed to do. ! The third day the toilet was allegedly repaired and we were also told so was the shower temperature. Unfortunately, on the same day the toilet stopped working again after 1 use, at this point we had had enough. We were offered a different room on the first floor which was the last room available and we had to take it there and then if not we were stuck. In the faulty towers room. This room was much better. The view was non existent apart from looking at bushes with no sun but at least the shower temperature did not fluctuate and we had a working toilet. However the TV would not let us watch any UK stations. This was reported and looked at but again it still would not let us watch any UK stations so we gave up. The AC unit in the room was very efficient and nice and quiet. The hotel manager was very pleasant, as he should be and thankfully was able to swap rooms. The restaurant staff were friendly,, but I think their reception staff were getting annoyed at me for my constant complaining about the facilities we had. The last four days of the holiday were much better than the first three. Clearly having to move all our belongings on day three was an inconvenience.

Now i've been here many times before (when it was'nt adults only) Beautiful location 😍 Hotel clean enough 😁 Staff ok as in ok not too friendly On last day went for toast & cup of tea 7am to get literally locked inside (bike lock on handle) 🤔 i had to go find some1 out of kitchen to let me out !! & yes she knew we were there before she locked it ! As i have stated i've been here when it was'nt just adults only, food is OK & i mean only OK , personally think you need to up your game on the food side, quite alot of it is bland & un-inspiring Drinks, why is it classed as a 4☆ when all you serve is cheap spirits...smirnoff etc should be included at 4☆ rating All in all your staff need to be abit more friendly, food needs a overhaul Fab location I will return to portinax but maybe self catering next time as food was a let down for me

From the moment we arrived at the hotel I was fantastic think we knew we were in for something different, the receptionist was polite and helpful as we were early our room wasn't ready but she gave us a key card to use the Elite lounge which was stocked very well with branded beers, sprits coffee and snacks. we were in our room within 30 mins upon arrival room was very comfortable aircon was fantastic beds are massive. the staff at this hotel go out of there way top help as much as they can food was fantastic plenty of choice from breakfast lunch and dinner you will never go hungry at this hotel I will give a special mention to Eusebio the bar tender in the royal elite bar this man works so hard but always has a smile on his face and made the guest feel very welcome a great guy location was just perfect just what you need if you want a quite relaxing holiday we've already book to go back in may
