San Carlos Hotel

The San Carlos Hotel is my go-to hotel when I'm in NYC for a board meeting - about 4 times a year - and for the occasional interim trip. The location is ideal for my mid-town commitments. The Executive Junior Suite is perfect for when I'm traveling alone or when my wife accompanies me to hit some museums, the theater, or just get her NYC fix. 😊 The hotel's boutique nature and the welcome from the friendly staff give the feeling of "coming home" when I arrive from the airport. There are a variety of excellent restaurants within a short walk, not to mention the excellent Indian restaurant attached to the hotel.

The San Carlos is a phenomenal hotel. Quite a blessing, staff, location and spacious rooms. Safe neighborhood and convenient to all midtown activities also very close to Central Park. Easy commute to LaGuardia Airport. All city transportation close by. Absolutely will stay there again when we return to New York. Can’t express enough how blessed of an experience we had.

Pros: This is a great 4-star hotel. Double bedroom beds were super comfortable and had excellent bed linen, room was really large, air conditioning was quiet and effective, bathroom had shallow bath tub and shower head, towels were of high quality and replaced everyday. Staff is very polite and very attentive and professional. You simply can’t go wrong with this hotel. Cons: These are minor ones, but would really make the stay even more pleasant. There are very limited places to hang coats and night clothes - a freestanding coat hanger would be a great addition. Also, would be beneficial to have more than one foldable luggage racks as we had four small suitcases, with three in the floor.
