We just returned from a four-night stay at The Sagamore, and contrary to having some reservations based on reading previous reviews, our family just did not have as great of an experience as usual at other nearby properties. We were traveling with our toddler son, and required a version of a suite so he'd have a quiet place to sleep that could be closed off, which is why we chose this hotel. One thing that upset me straight away is three days before we were set to arrive, I noticed that the hotel's rates for the exact same suite for the exact same dates were now approx. $1000 cheaper total than when I had reserved a month prior. I emailed back and forth several times with their front desk asking for a simple rate adjustment and they kept giving me the runaround (different answers each time I replied). I was well within the three day requirement to cancel, and when I tried to do so and just re-book at the better rate, they stopped responding. I want to preface this review by saying by and large, the staff here were some of the friendliest I've ever seen in 9 years of going to Miami for trips, ESPECIALLY the bellhops who couldn't have been more amazing (always opening the door, greeting us, being pro-active about getting our bas, being sweet to our son....A+++ to them!). As other have stated, the rooms here look NOTHING like the photos online. I'd be as brazen to say they verge on the line of being down-right unethical in their representation. They must have styled one or two suites for website photos, because what we saw were outdated with little to no color and mismatched, super cheap furniture. The pocket doors to divide the bedroom and living room are frosted glass, so it was hard to make the room dark for our son to sleep. I had called ahead and confirmed to get a crib, so when we got there, Marvin at the front said it was, indeed, in the room. It was not. We were told it was on its way, which didn't happen. We went out and he acted completely surprised it wasn't there, but it was brought up by the time we came back from the pool. Here are a few of our biggest issues with The Sagamore: 1. Wifi is absolutely DREADFUL. In 2023, there is no reason to have such spotty service. Even the servers by the pool agreed it was pitiful as they have issues putting in orders on their handheld devices. It cut in and out constantly, which made getting some work done challenging. Of course, as with other issues, the front desk acted surprised each time it was brought up. 2. I know most people don't care about TV when on vacation, but our unique jobs make some viewing a necessity. Several of the main network channels had no audio the entire time we were there. We brought it up on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday—again, each time, the front desk acted like it was the first time hearing about it. We were even told via text, "it would be escalated to the owner" (whatever that means). It was soon clear this is a permanent issue that they just kept passing the buck on. 3. Thermostat in the room would constantly change on its own. I'd wake up in the middle of the night hot and surprised to see it had gone from 68 preset to 71. 4. Pool area was not at all enjoyable. The water is warmer than a typical bath. Gross! Not at all relaxing or refreshing. It's also a super tiny pool. Music around the pool was good, though. While they were nice, I did find the employees around the pool to be a tad less proactive than other resorts (you have to put your own towels on the chairs, move the umbrella, actually hunt out a server for food/drink, etc.). However, I will say they have WAY more options for food than other nearby properties. Their cocktails were pretty bad, though. We ordered several and they had no ice in them at all. 5. We also found it bizarre there was no place to sit and order a hot breakfast each day. Although, later in the week, we noticed the poolside restaurant may have had breakfast, but I'm confused about exactly where/how. Again, we 100% would not stay here again. It was WAY overpriced for what you get.

This is our second time at Sagamore and we have been happy both times! Family oriented, rooms were clean and personnel always made sure we had a comfortable stay! Beach service was great. The only improvement I can suggest is having few more people at the pool area to take orders and deliver food. Both guys that worked the bar during our stay were amazing. They were very busy taking orders and making drinks. But the girl was just standing around… So our food stood for 20 min at the bar and my kids just went and got it. That’s the only improvement needed to be made! Delroy is always so helpful!! He helped us with our bags from our room to the car! He makes you feel like an old friend. Overall Sagamore is beautiful hotel and the heated zero entry pool is so great for the kids at any time of year! Great location, close to everything, we felt like we didn’t even need to rent a car. We’ll definitely be back!
