We spent a week at Royal Sands. Our beach waiters were Oliver and Allberto. Drinks were fantastic and beach service was perfect. They were always friendly and helpful. Food or drink service was prompt and they treat you like long time friends. A great experience. I wish more resorts were like this.

My husband surprised me with a trip to Cancun for my birthday! We had never been to the Royal Sands resort before and really enjoyed it. It was a little different for an all-inclusive as half of more of the resort was set up as timeshares. We were beachfront on the quiet side which was very nice. The balcony was very narrow, and it would have been nice to have a small table to put my coffee on, but it had a fantastic view of the sunrises every day and they did have a coffeepot in the room and refilled the coffee pks most of the time. They put soda, beer and water in the little frig. We were on the 6th floor and the birds flew past right in front of it. The surf was very strong most of the time we were there, but the beach was wonderful, soft white sand. *Internet was good except for one day that it was not working at all. *The resort gives you flags to mark your chairs if you are set up and leave for a bit to go to lunch, etc. It was not really busy when we stayed so we had our choice of palapas, but the pool chairs got claimed quickly in the morning. *They started working on the pool bars while we were there, but waiters were very good at keeping us in drinks. The odd thing for us was having to sign a tab for drinks or food each time even though it was part of the all-inclusive. The resort is advertising that it is cashless, and everything gets billed to your room via the key card. We always tipped in cash so it did not really apply to us although if you were not part of the All Inclusive it might be convenient. *The food was all very good, so many choices and everything was kept fresh and filled for the morning buffet. I especially loved the white chocolate dipped biscotti. *The waiters were all good, Fer was my favorite in the morning, but we also had David, Carlos and Mario, all very attentive with filling your coffee, cleaning the table, etc. *We had no problem making reservations for the Bistro and the Hacienda Sisal. La Veranda did not need reservations and the dinner menu there was excellent also. Angel, our waiter at the Bistro (which is the upper part of the La Veranda curtained off at night), was very helpful and the house steak I had there was the best steak I have had in a very long time. We ate there twice, the second time we had Ricardo as our waiter, also very nice. They had live music that night which we really enjoyed. *The Hacienda had a mariachi band the night we were there which actually serenaded me for my Birthday. We had walked around early in the week to find out where things were and the hostess, Samantha remembered me when we did come for dinner! Sergio was our waiter there and did a wonderful job. * We also went to the Grand Salon, which has a buffet to watch a show early in the week, (Carribean show) and on our last night we saw the Micheal Jackson show. That buffet was just ok but the shows were fun, the MJ show was the best. You need to reserve those also. * We usually got lunch from the Chargrill by the pool, all good. We had different waiters around the pool, Damian, Martin, Johnathon, all took good care of us. *Room Service was included but we never used it. We spent most of our time at the beach or the pool. *The bars do not start serving alcohol until 11am so no mimosas for breakfast. There is not as much of a boozy atmosphere, at least there was not when we were there. The pools were very clean and relaxing. I would recommend this resort.

Over all it was great. Resort is nice, and very well kept up. The staff does a good job about being friendly and keeping things in order The servers at the pool area were awesome! We had Arturo Pedraza, and a few other but Arturo was awesome. He really made the stay great and we want to come back, and maybe even become time share owners here.
