The hotel is amazing. Smooth check-in, excelent room service, fast friendly pool bar and the profesional beach service. You need to visit also the Choi Bar at the roof. You can enjoy happy hours, try signature cocktails and mainly meet admirable Winnie. @Winnie, thanks for all local tips and the high service you are delivering.
This did not feel like a 4/5 star hotel. The pool was lovely and the private beach. But there is construction work going on next door. Also, a lot of noise from neighbouring buildings e.g. bin lorries at midnight etc. The reception staff were not friendly or helpful on arrival. However the concierge staff and catering and house keeping were lovely - particularly Lakshan in housekeeping and Hiba the waitress. The chefs were very friendly as well. We were promised a partial sea view room but couldn’t see the sea. The balcony only had room for 1 person not two. It was dirty and rundown. The room itself was nice and the bathroom was lovely. The breakfast was good but not enough seating and too many people so it felt rushed and difficult to access everything. No coffee machine, just black coffee. Evening food was awful. Luckily the wait staff offered us pizza or pasta as an alternative. They did an outdoor grill one evening - that was the highlight. There’s no stairs only lifts which was a bit annoying. Overall I wouldn’t give this the rating it currently has on TripAdvisor (4.5). I’d give it a 3 maximum. A surprise for a hotel on the palm. We were hoping for pure luxury and VIP treatment which we rarely got. Wouldn’t stay again.
