Very nice resort. Rooms were 4 out of 5, tub in middle of room was not ideal for us. Pools and beach were awesome. Service was excellent. Buffet was very good with lots of selection. Specialty restaurants, we went to four. Italian was good, Mexican was okay, but the steakhouse and Japanese were disappointing

Excellent resort for all ages. Love the 3 foot pool bar pools. Food quality was very good at the venues we visited Italian, Mexican and the Buffett for all three meals was as good as at higher priced resorts. The entertainment staff were excellent offering water sports and fitness. We loved that club 24 had breakfast for early morning departures. Most resorts do not offer this. Overall we will be back at Riu Palace Costa Mujeres

4 day vacation was trash because I used my nickname in part of my booking, but used all my proper legal names to travel/check in, yet they wouldn't recognize it, even though i had printed confirmations to show that i go by both names. Hotel gave us a hard time, charged me for a nights stay (until we could sort the matter out), they promised a reimbursement...yup, got that reimbursement Jan 25, only $40 CDN short my original payment. I had to run circles getting in touch with Expedia to have them help me sort the name thing out. Not impressed that they asked for us to pay for the 1 nights stay in CASH - first they asked for $650 USD cash, and when I said no, they brought it down to $320 USD cash. I said NO, and told them I would pay for this room on my credit card with a receipt. The entire trip had already been paid for, i had my passport to show them who I was as well as printed documentation showing both my names. So it really wasn't much of a vacation. Then i get screwed over on my reimbursement! It's literally not worth going back to them to fight over $40 CDN so I'm going to tell people how things were handled by them. I feel like if there is any way they can con you out of something, they will try. Good luck.
