This was our third visit to this lovely hotel to escape our Great British January weather. It's all been said before but it really is the staff that make it so special. For fear of offending by leaving anyone out, suffice to say they all contribute 100% Except ( I know I've done it now!)for the delightful Susana who went over and above to proficiently sort a room change. Food in all restaurants cannot be faulted. However!! There have been changes in the marketing of The Rendezvous that whilst it did not affect or spoil our stay,we know for some it did. It is no longer a couples only resort. It is however still adults only. There were a few family groups (yes all adults) but the place has lost that intimate feel that always went hand in hand with the couples ethos. I have even seen some agents saying that singles are also welcomed. So would we return again? That would normally be a resounding yes in a heartbeat as soon as we returned. But this is why I've considered so long since our return to leave a review. Before we did return I would check the reviews very carefully to see what impact the new marketing is having before booking our lovely hotel that has been like "going home"over the years. It may be that if the ethos that The Rendezvous has built up over the years is jeopardised that we may have to find elsewhere next year to escape our Great British January weather. What a great shame that would be. We'll see.
This resort beats all expectations. A lot has been said about the incredible staff already. It's all true. I have never experienced such warm and friendly customer service before. The fact they remember your name instantly is astonishing. The people really do make this resort special. I would love to give special mentions but they are all fabulous. I travelled solo and I can honestly say that I loved every minute of my stay. If you are thinking of travelling here alone but feel intimidated by the couple vibe, don't be, this is an excellent choice for the solo traveller. The resort is stunning and intimate and the food is plentiful and wonderful. I had a premium verandah room which was absolutely gorgeous. I enjoyed the best spa treatments I've ever had (thanks Leona!) I recommend this resort to anyone thinking of spending some quality 'me' in paradise. The only negatives I have (which have nothing to do with the resort at all) is that the location is actually in quite a busy area near a main road and there were extremely loud motorbikes revving up and down day and night. Apparently this was something to do with Independence Day so may not happen all year round, but just to note that this resort isn't in the middle of nowhere if you're looking for silent tranquility. That said, none of this spoilt my holiday at all. I will return.
This was a lovely resort and the staff were amazing. The food was excellent. Even with just the three restaurants over a two week timespan, we didn’t get bored. The menus would change. The highlight of the resort is the staff in every capacity. They were all friendly and truly accommodating. There were many fitness activities during the day which were varied. I suggest a few more body toning and weight classes, as there was a large amount of stretching and yoga. We had a walkout beach room which was great. We loved the resident cats and sincerely thank the resort for their kindness with these animals. We truly enjoyed their presence and watching their antics. The resort had a catamaran sunset cruise on Valentine’s Day which was complimentary, very nice touch! Drinks were excellent. Champagne bar was nice. The resort gardens were beautiful. Good entertainment in the lobby bar each evening. We really loved the pick your own tune night for dancing, I suggest that occurs more often! Lots of lounge chairs and room for relaxing at the pools and beach. The spa is nice and reasonably priced. The ride from the airport was long, the road is narrow and curvy. This is not a party resort, the guest demographic was older when we were there. Nice and quietly sophisticated. We certainly recommend this resort and we had a lovely time. Thank you to all the staff!
