I am coming to this hotel in April 2023 and I am genuinely concerned as I have searched and searched and searched and Google said ‘Permanently Closed’. When you phone the only number it says the hotel is a Hilton BUT nobody answers the phone. I’d just like to be able to confirm that when I arrive in NYC I will actually have a room. It does not fill me with confidence at all that there doesn’t seem to be a hotel with this name any more….
Stayed here for one night. Looks like until recently this was a Radisson. They are in the midst of a renovation, and my room felt like it was fairy recently redone. Room was in good condition, bathroom was newly renovated and mostly worked well (see below). HVAC is the old school style unit by the window. No wall thermostat, heat and a/c control on the unit. It was old, but quiet and worked well, so it didn't bother me. Bed was comfortable, everything was clean. Furniture was a bit cheap. There was a small round table in a space that could have easily fit, and desperately needed, a desk. Problems listed below. To be fair, I didn't report any of this because I was there for such a short stay, and most of this I discovered late as I was getting ready to sleep. 1. Wifi didn't work 2. TV would not turn on 3. Shower flooded bathroom. They did a whole nice bathroom reno but didn't put in a seal around the shower door. I came out of the shower to a full 1/2 inch of water covering the whole bathroom floor. 4. Hot water was cranked up way too high, scalding and dangerous temps
This is a very plain hotel with small rooms, but it was very clean and the front desk staff were friendly. Location is central. Don’t expect a lobby or a concierge or any frills! The restaurant on the 7th floor had a passable breakfast, no more expensive than the diners in the neighbourhood.
