This is a great hotel if you are looking for somewhere with amazing sunset views, clean, very friendly staff, quiet and good location. We spent 7 nights here in a Junior Suite and we were upgraded on our last full day to an infinity pool suite. It was fabulous and so memorable, I would highly recommend it. Yes, lots of steps, but that's to be expected in Santorini! The staff were great, John in particular at breakfast, but all are very friendly and helpful (thank god they carried up our 25kg cases!) The location is great, 5 minutes from the local bars, restaurants (Aegean is a must) and supermarkets and then 15 minutes walk down to Fira for more hustle and bustle. We also did the walk to Oia (under 2hrs) first thing in the morning, then caught the bus back (€2). Oia is 'posher' but very crowded and expensive. The sunset is amazing from the hotel anyway. Do a catamaran cruise, it is a great way to see the beaches, swim and meet people. Tip: check on-line for the cruise liners and pick a day when they are not around for going to Oia !

We chose Pegasus based off of the reviews and the area. Having never been to Greece before, we did not really know where the best place to stay would be, but after looking at the map of Santorini as a hole, I thought imerovigli would be the best area. It’s pretty central on Santorini. However, the restaurants surrounding Pegasus are all relatively expensive and you could easily travel to oia or fira or Kamari if you wanted to spend a little bit less money. The views, however, in imerovigli cannot be beat. The views from Pegasus itself are stunning. It is built into the Cliffside and you get beautiful views of the sunset and the ocean. Breakfast is included, which is nice, but we would appreciate if they would label what each item is. You never know what it might be until you bite into it. They do change up what they offer every day, which is pretty nice so that you don’t get tired of what you’re eating. They have fresh squeezed orange juice, which is very, very good and, John was by far the nicest staff member at Pegasus. He was working breakfast every day- and was incredibly friendly, helpful, and seemed like he was happy to be there. We also ate at the Pegasus restaurant for dinner our first night on the island and would not recommend it. The views are good, but the menu is small and expensive - and Katsos, our waiter, was extremely unfriendly. The front desk staff at Pegasus are very nice and helpful. We really didn’t have any issues with staff other than Katsos. The room was decent. We did the junior suite with a hot tub on the patio. We never ended up using the hot tub so we definitely would not have needed that, but it makes for a bigger patio when you do have that option so we’re glad that we got that room regardless. The bed was pretty comfortable, the views are amazing, and the shower had good water pressure. The lighting in the room, especially the bathroom, is horrible. There are ants crawling on the floor pretty much all the time which is relatively gross, but I suppose it’s better than spiders. I absolutely hated the towels at Pegasus. I don’t know if they air dry them or what the deal is, but they are very hard and scratchy. They’re not soft or fluffy at all which is unfortunate but it’s possible that using a drier on the island uses too much electricity or something. The lounge chairs by the pool are very nice and comfortable. It seems a little bit gross that they are cloth because people sweat on them but as long as you lay a towel down, I think it’s OK. The pool is small, but I never felt like it was too busy or crowded. I think a lot of people leave the hotel during the day to go do activities and what not so it’s not an issue trying to get a chair by the pool if that’s what you want to do. I would not recommend staying here if you have any knee problems, hip problems, back problems, etc. There are a remarkable amount of stairs that you have to walk up and down to get to any room or any area of the hotel. I think this is to be expected in Greece, you walk pretty much everywhere and there are lots of steps, no matter where you go. But please keep this in mind if you decide to stay at this hotel because it is not going to be fun for somebody who is not in shape. The air conditioning takes a while to cool down the room, but once it’s cooled, it does feel nice. Sitting on the patio at this hotel is nice because there’s not any construction or anything going on to add any unnecessary noise. It’s very calm, relaxing, and again, the views are incredible. You can get some really awesome photos from your balcony. I do wish that they did not allow people to smoke cigarettes here at the hotel, but, we are from America and it’s just extremely uncommon for people to smoke cigarettes where we live so we had to get used to that here in Europe as a whole, but also at the hotel. I don’t think it’s just Pegasus; I’m mentioning this for no matter where you stay. The gym at Pegasus is probably the worst thing about it. I know that people say “what’s the point of exercising on vacation,” blah blah… but it is part of our daily routine and we do enjoy getting a decent workout in in the morning time before starting our day. It’s hard to do that and you just have to get creative in the very, very small gym. Not a reason to not stay here, though. They brought fresh towels and toiletries to our room every day despite us asking to not have our room cleaned. It was thoughtfully timed and we were appreciative. If we came back to Greece, we would probably stay at Pegasus again. This was our first time here and we were pretty happy with the hotel overall. The only real complaint I have is that we were told to call the front desk when we needed someone to come and grab our bags, and I called 5 times but no one answered. We had to carry our own bags all the way up and upon getting to reception, we found the attendant sleeping on the couch. That was frustrating and stressful at 345 am. We normally do all inclusive resorts pretty much anywhere we go, but we wanted to step outside of our comfort zone in Greece and we are glad that we did. There are lots of bars and restaurants surrounding Pegasus, but just know that you will be spending quite a bit of money wherever you eat and walking a lot so bring comfy shoes. Some things that we did while greece were: Rent a side-by-side to tour the island. You don’t have to wear a helmet which I appreciate and it is very fun. We rented from Santo wheels and it was extremely easy. Go to Kamari Beach. It’s black sand and rock, which doesn’t feel so great on the feet, but it is a beautiful beach and the water is unbelievably clean and clear. It is surrounded by shops and restaurants, and it’s a little bit less expensive than the imerovigli area. It’s a bit of a racket that you have to pay for a chair at the beach, but whatever. Do one of the catamaran tours. We booked ours on Expedia, and there are lots to choose from so we just chose the one that had the best reviews. It’s a five hour boat ride that takes you to see several areas of the island and you get to watch the sunset from the boat. It was actually wonderful. We were lucky that we got with a great group of people, which is a little bit of a gamble, but if you are with a group of people already and can all go together, that would be super fun. Head over to fira if you are interested in seeing a different type of area. It’s definitely more casual and not high-end, the restaurants are cheaper and it’s like a little market. You can go to different shops; they all have the same things in them. There’s a food court where they have great ice cream and some other little food options. You can get a great view of the entire island in Perissa (pyrgos) because they have the highest point.

OMG - this hotel and ALL the staff were heaven from start to finish - so sorry, but only got the names of Maria, John and Costas but everyone could not do enough for us - I would highly recommend the spa, the room was beautiful and especially the plunge pool in the room was subline - this was our holiday of a lifetime and this hotel lived up to that. The breakfast was lovely with a vast choice to choose from and the sunset from our balcony was breathtaking. Can not recommend this hotel and the staff highly enough. Thank you :)
