We couldn’t have chosen a better resort for our anniversary! Unfortunately our luggage arrived with a 24-hr delay. Thankfully, we had planned to spend a night in Male so it worked out ok. I’d like to salute how Jumeirah coordinated with the hotel we stayed at in Male to make sure transfers were smooth, and luggage made it to the resort in a timely manner. Speedboat transfers: First-class. We appreciated the warm welcome with traditional music, gifts and refreshments upon arrival. Room was ready upon arrival and decorated for the occasion (balloons and garland for our anniversary). The Exotic fruits, bubbly and sweets were a pleasant surprise. The villa exceeded our expectations by far. Modern, high-tech, spacious, more storage than you need, top-notch amenities, big pool, superb rooftop, and breathtaking views. Food: Everything tasted so fresh was so flavorful Breakfast is gargantuan. Immense variety for all diets, and delicious options on the menu. Half board is more than enough unless you are a big eater. A floating breakfast was part of our package too and it was delicious Resort: extremely well maintained, the perfect size if you like intimate hotels with an exclusive feel, it never felt crowded. The island is walkable, but your butler can drive you everywhere if you don’t want to walk. Our designated attendant Soukaina was great, so sweet, highly informative, good suggestions, and was always responsive. Our return flight was in the evening and they made sure we were comfortable until our transfer time. A million thanks to every single staff member, everywhere on the resort: restaurant, reception, beach, you really made every minute of this trip enjoyable. Thanks for sharing interesting facts about Maldivian history & culture, and funny anecdotes. We sure made fond memories!
Overall, the Jumeirah Maldives Olhalali Island provided us with the dream holiday we had hoped for, and more. Our stay was fantastic and we would highly recommend the resort to anyone who asked. It was a truly magical experience. The Maldives really speaks for itself with it's beautiful turquoise waters and stunning colourful sunsets. But where you stay can either make or break the trip. Jumeirah Maldives Olhahali Island did not disappoint. Each staff member that we came across was incredibly friendly, personable, and nothing was too much to ask. Each request was met and exceeded, and mostly things were done and provided for us that we did not even think to ask for. For example, a lifeguard walked around the island following us while snorkelling to ensure our safety, and took us back to the villa in his golf buggy once we were done snorkelling. Our host/butler Saajy put up more shade for us because we got burnt. We were delivered sun safe packs because it definitely looked like we had forgotten our sunscreen (the sun is strong!). The villas are huge - I stayed with my mum and brother in the Deluxe Overwater Villa with pool. We each had our own space if we needed it, but there were also plenty of places to hang out together. The villas are private so you can hang out in your swimwear without feeling self conscious of other villas staring across at you. The villas are cleaned every morning while you are at breakfast, and turn down is every evening while you are at dinner - minimal interruption. Our housekeeper Ashadh was super lovely and left the room spotless every day, we can't thank him enough. Saajy was our host/butler, and he checked in on us daily to make sure we had everything we needed. The restaurants provide a variety of cuisines for dinner, and breakfast had a huge selection of buffet items and made-to-order items (all included in the half board rate). We ate and drank ourselves silly! To top off a magical 6 nights, we found out that although we arrived at the resort by boat (at night), we had the option to take a seaplane back to the airport for our departing flight (around midday). This meant that we got a wonderful tour of the Maldives from up above on our last day there. We could not have asked for a better trip and will remember it forever. All thanks to Jumeirah Maldives and their lovely staff/resort.
We were lodged in Deluxe water villa with pool, Villa 41. Everything was great, from luxury room (amazing shower), own pool and fantastic Half board à la carte option (though I wish drinking water should be complimentary during meals on HB) My family loves snorkeling and although Villa 41 side had some little sealife, the water was much calmer for not so good swimmers like myself. However, best snorkeling experience is from their house reef on the other side (sunset side?). Water more turbulent but sealife so much more than our side. I wish the hotel would readily be more knowledgeable about this as we discovered only on last day. Wonderful service and sense of hospitality from all staffs. I prefer boat transfer as it feels more luxurious than seaplane (hot and noisy). Water villas are less expensive than beach villas and just as nice.
