We have just returned from a fantastic 3 week stay at Dreams Jade, what a lovely place. Check in was completed with no problems, we and our luggage were taken to our rooms in block one, we did not choose Preferred so This review does not cover that. Rooms are very well appointed, large and exactly what we were expecting, plenty of wardrobe space, our room had two queen beds and a couple of steps down to a lounge area, a huge bathroom with a large shower, whirlpool bath, 2 sinks and separate wc and bidet, lovely toiletries were also provided, the mini fridge was replenished daily with beer, soft drinks and water, our rooms were made up daily albeit a little late in the afternoon at times. Everywhere is kept very clean and tidy. There are five restaurants, Spice (Asian)|, Tamarindo (Mexican), Mercure (French), Cin Can (Mediterranean), Capers (Italian) plus the buffet which is open every day for breakfast and lunch and some evenings. The food is very good quality and well prepared, the service can be a little bit slow at times due to there not being enough staff, (more about that later), our favourites were Capers, Mercure and Cin Cin. The buffet breakfast and lunch are very good with plenty of choice, there is definitely something for everyone. During the day there is music at the pool, there is Zumba and Aquarobics in the morning, there is also water polo and volleyball around midday followed by Crazy games in the afternoon, the Entertainment team are fantastic and get everyone involved that want to join in, Christian and Emilio are brilliant, along with the rest of the team who are all very friendly. I have to give a special mention to the two pool waiters that looked after us, Misael and Ivan, both very attentive, polite and helpful, nothing was too much trouble and they were great fun. There was also live music for a couple of hours some of the days which was good. We also factored in a delightful spa treatment: a massage and facial. It was a relaxing and luxurious experience. Highly recommended Now to the staffing issue, the thing that really needs addressing is the staffing issue, everyone works extremely hard and does so willingly with a smile and good humour, however there just isn’t enough of them a lot of the time the restaurant staff are just overwhelmed, this is a management problem not the staff, this can result in long waits for tables and then for food, it feels a little bit like the company are trying to manage with as few staff as possible and as a result things are not as good as they should be, I must reiterate this is not the fault of the staff working there they are all amazing, it’s the fault of the management if they were to employ a good few more people the place would be perfect. This review is in conjunction with my sister, who is also submitting her own review. Having said all this, we will be returning next year, even with the staffing issues, we loved the place and the people.

If your hair is important to you, take a hair dryer. The one provided is not very powerful and does not really dry the hair. The mini fridge was replenished daily with beer, soft drinks and water, our rooms were made up daily albeit a little late in the afternoon at times (after 4pm). Everywhere is kept very clean and tidy. There are five a la Carte restaurants, Spice (Asian)|, Tamarindo (Mexican), Mercure (French), Cin Can (Mediterranean), Capers (Italian) plus the buffet which is open every day for breakfast and lunch and some evenings. Castaways is not open and I read a review that stated that apparently it hasn’t been open for around seven years. It should really be removed from the restaurant list. The food is very good quality and well prepared, the service can be quite (a little bit) slow at times and there are long waiting times due to there not being enough staff, (more about that later). Our favourites were: Capers, Mercure and Cin Cin. The buffet breakfast and lunch are very good with plenty of choice, there is definitely something for everyone. The evening buffet is very limited, which is disappointing. If it offered more choices, it would take the pressure off the a la Carte restaurants. Now to the staffing issue, the thing that really needs addressing is the staffing issue, everyone works extremely hard and does so willingly with a smile and good humour, however there just isn’t enough of them. Therefore a lot of the time the restaurant staff are just overwhelmed, this is a management problem not the staff. This can result in long waits for tables, and then for food in the evening: dinner is an important part of a holiday. It feels like the company are trying to manage with as few staff as possible and as a result things are not as good as they should be, I must reiterate this is not the fault of the staff working there they are all amazing, it’s the fault of the management: if they were to employ a good few more people the place would be perfect. We also had a lovely Spa treatment, well with the money, was very relaxing. This review is in conjunction with my sister. We will be returning next year as despite the staffing issues we loved the place and the people.

The whole experience of my trip was nothing but amazing. From the nightly shows that are offered (minus the “magician”, unless you want to see a couple standard card tricks, and watch him make younger women put cards in their bra, but HIGHLY recommend the rest of the shows), house keeping, room service, waiters, bartenders, absolutely everything made my vacation so wonderful. But one person during my trip that stood out the most, was a waiter in the buffet area, named Edwin. He was one of the only people who made me feel so welcome and like I was at “home” for the week. My whole family that I came with absolutely loved him as well. My brother and I made sure to eat breakfast everyday in the buffet just so we could hang out and start our day with edwin. Highly recommend this resort! So much fun, you absolutely won’t regret it!!
