I spent a beautiful weekend in cold dreary London, however from the moment I arrived in Nobu Hotel Shoreditch l was transported by excellent esthetics,a signiture scents and greeted by excellent warm and attentive service by Delia and her team . Thank you so much for delivering excellent service.
I stayed at the Nobu for a couple of weeks for work during its soft opening phase. Now I came back for 3 days with my wife and son. (+) Great location if you like Shoreditch (+) Carefully designed rooms, still well kept and very clean (+) Presumably still good/ great Japanese food in the restaurant - didn’t dine there this time (+) Very friendly reception staff (-) Communication before check-in was bumpy. I specifically asked if a child can stay in the room and got a positive answer. Some days later I got a call during dinner time stating that I hadn’t gotten back to them and that no child could stay in our room category. Only after additional communication back and forth a satisfactory solution was found (-) In-room dining has only Japanese food. No exceptions possible even for children. Well-meant but somewhat unprofessional suggestion of the front desk was to “order Uber Eats instead” (-) Restaurant staff told my wife they would not wash our child’s bottle, instead asked her to do it herself “because every room has a sink”. To be fair staff apologized later for this (-) “Spa”/ steam-room very small and not really appealing - but might be personal taste All-in-all this set-up doesn’t work for me. I might be spoiled after traveling for so many years on project work, but from a five star (!) hotel I expect that challenges are accepted, problems are proactively solved and communication is always forthcoming. Instead here the attitude is literally “if it’s not on the menu you can’t have it”. I might still recommend it for singles or younger couples for 2-3 nights tops. Unfortunately it is not suitable for more demanding business travelers nor families looking for a real luxury experience.
Visited Nobu hotel where Lino was exceptional in his hospitality for us! A great guy and he really made our visit extra special. We forgot our phone and he really helped in making sure we found it again. Thank you Nobu hotel and special thank you again to Lino
