My family (2 adults and 1 toddler) stayed at the property over President’s weekend. I’ve visited this property a few times in the past for conferences and meetings but this was our first time staying onsite and it did not disappoint. Everything from valet to the check in process was seamless. Geraldine at the front desk was a true highlight of the trip. She greeted us with a genuine and warm smile and was so kind to accommodate our request for a high floor room with a view. The room was spacious for New York and had all the creature comforts you could want. The fitness center was large with many cardio machines, 3 peloton bikes and lots of weight options. We did not eat our meals in the hotel, but the cafe was great for quick snacks and coffee. Only thing we wish was a little more seamless was the elevator experience. Make sure you have everything you need when leaving your room because it can take anywhere from 5 to 10 mins to get an elevator. Overall we enjoyed the accommodations and it’s great central location and look forward to visiting again.
We spent 4 nights with a great view of Times Square. We requested and we’re given an upgraded room. We’ve stayed at this hotel a few times and this was one of the better stays. The room was comfortable and the black out curtains worked well. I was happy to see the change to refillable bottles of body wash, shampoo, and conditioner. The body lotion is lovely and the lavender pillow spray was a nice addition. We utilized the excellent workout facility a few times. The $30 daily resort fee was spent on evening drinks, breakfast, and small bites on different days. Can’t beat the location and if you’re on a higher floor noise is not an issue. One outstanding employee is Renata who provided our housekeeping services. I’ve never felt the need to mention someone by name but she was, like I said outstanding.
The hotel is nice. It was clean and we only found 2 hairs in the shower. I stayed at the Marquis for one night after a night at the Conrad NY Downtown. There are no frills with this place, no robes, no slippers just a bed. They have refillable dispensers for shampoo and soap. Also the front desk is very comfortable not accommodating requests and saying NO or making you feel as though you inconvenienced them. All while not being good at their job. They desk agent asked for lots of info while not accurately noting my Bonvoy info so I had to spend time following up to resolve the matter. The good: Ample outlets at the desk station for you to plug up all of the equipment you may travel with if you’re teleworking. The room is spacious and you are able to spread out. The bed is comfortable. The bathroom is modern. The hotel is in the middle of Times Square and convenient to the theatre district. I did not hear any street noise in my room on the 23rd floor and the entrance wasn’t crowded with people. The bad: Marriott doesn’t recognize domestic partnerships. I made the reservation for our trip using my Bonvoy number and my partner (a titanium elite) was coming in later. They wouldn’t allow me to use his benefits until he arrived. Marriott should consider having the option of adding names to an account.
