Had the chance of getting a Hilton grand vacations package for this hotel. The hotel and amenities were great! Everyone was polite and helped out as much as possible. Being in the heart of Manhattan was also a plus. I want to give a HUGE shoutout to one of the employees by the name of Pena. He was very helpful and polite and genuine with his service. I think he is the standard of service that any employee at Hilton should have. If possible I would appreciate you guys making sure you tell him how his hard work is always appreciated and worth everything. Thank you again Pena!

Stayed again at the Hilton Midtown in July 2024, this time for a family visit. This is enormous midtown convention hotel--and very conveniently located for what we wanted to do. This time, in room 1215, facing south, as a Hilton Honors member. First, be a Hilton Honors member! You'll be advantaged on Wifi cost (can be free), get a free breakfast, and a free dinner, and have a trouble line to call for service issues. Worth it. Room was clean, bathroom very clean, towels were still mass market thin and not luxury, bed was great, the environmental controls were good. Sadly, the window in 1215 had problems. Someone had bent the latch and there was a minute opening--but large enough to literally hear a violinist playing on the street 12 floors below! Can still hear some laughing, talking happy people one night going down the hall (and this time, a dog woofing across the hall), but no other inter-room noise. Reception was great. Coffee shop was fast and good (if the normal NYC expensive). Housekeeping kept this room spotless--not sure who, but tipped every day. Two maintenance notes: 1) The window latches need attention (I called engineering and sent a separate email to the Hilton information email) and 2) She's a grand old lady but she's showing some where in this room. The vinyl headboard is shedding a layer. Not dirt, per se--but unattractive and off putting for a room running north of $500/night with fees and whatnot. Still--with a chance to look at room, given the good service and quietness of a well soundproofed room here, along with the killer location--I'd stay again.

As far as the rooms at the hotel are concerned we had no issues at all. Clean rooms serviced daily, decent beds, plenty of space, nothing to complain about (a kettle in the room wouldn't go amiss to be honest). What disappointed us is that our booking (booked through BA as part of a package) came with 2 complimentary breakfasts per day. When we queried this (and showed our accomodation vouchers) we were told each time our booking did not include meals and therefore they were unable to help us. Surely the Hilton isn't that stingy that they couldn't offer 2 breakfasts per morning? With the amount of rooms and guests staying there during our visit? Yet there was no offer to try and strike a compromise, I was flatly shut down each time. Never mind, at least they save a few more dollars eh.
