Really enjoyed my 1 night stay. Good value for money. I think the hotel is trying really hard and staff were super friendly. Room was good but just about big enough for 1 Or 2 nights, don’t think I’d like to stay longer I feel it would get a little claustrophobic. Breakfast needs to be improved I’d say it’s average at best. Restaurant was very quiet even on Saturday night/ Sunday lunch didn’t eat so can’t review. Really close to Shoreditch/brick lane which is where we wanted to explore. Overall enjoyed my stay.

i had to delete my intial review inorder to update per this hotel's last response. I have also changed my rating bc it is quite insulting to me how they keep trying to pass the buck here. this was the intial review i placed on google and here: ( from google) “I wanted to like this place as it seemed fine but I witnessed a huge rat go from the lobby near the elevator( maybe coming out of the side of the elevator ) running straight into the restaurant under the tables of unsuspecting people and while i pointed it out to one of the front desk people who also saw it (I am pretty sure), they didn’t alert the people in the restaurant. I almost did but was running late …Also the breakfast was pretty bad for the price point, dinner barely better…close to the tube which is a plus, but otherwise doubtful i will ever stay here again bc of the vermin issue.” (The manager responded on google to my review claiming it was a mouse. I am a city person, know London very well, and i can assure you this was not a mouse and it was far enough inside that it is very doubtful that it just ran in from outside. They need to get whatever extermination setup they have completely reassessed. A rat shouldn’t be able to run into the restaurant lol.) -------------------------------------------------------------- they then responded again here on trip advisor claiming I was "spreading misinformation". and then had the nerve to admonish me for not understandng "clear communication" they sent me via email basically demanding I call them only AFTER i placed the review on google not before lol. Perhaps thier staff person lied to them about where the rat came from, but I was there, I saw it with my own two eyes, it did not run in from outside. It popped right out near the elevator well inside the building, from where I have no clue, but it was there and it made a complete B-line for the restaurant which is very close to the elevator, running under tables of unsuspecting diners, headed towards the kitchen maybe I am not sure? It seemed to know where it was going tbh, I am not sure. It definitely wasn't shooed out of the building where I could see, but maybe there is a back door in the restuarant? I don't know. I then saw with my own two eyes the desk person do nothing. Maybe they sent a discreet text or something when i was looking away at the rat running but no one got up to alert the diners in the restaurant, which is what i honestly found absolutely disgusting, WAY more disgusting than the actual sighting. And THAT is why I chose to leave a review. If it had been busier in the lobby more people would have seen this. The desk person definitely saw it, AFTER I pointed to it. I regret not making more of a scene now, as the way they are responding to this review I find deeply insulting. They should just admit it is an old building, recently refurbished and that they are being diligent about extermintion practices instead they are harrasing a reviewer who had a very honest experience. This establishment is not serious in my opinion. I am allowed to have an opinion and place a fair review of MY EXPERIENCE. I have no reason to lie about my experience. I booked this hotel because I assumed it would be a very simple stay. Unfortunately it was not that at all judging by this dishonest back and forth. Whatever response they place here will just be some kind of reimaging of my actual experience and a blame game in a guest's direction instead of just zeroing in on the actual hygenic issue they are having? ( because of the age of the building would be my guess, I am not sure) I am also not the only guest who have had issues with this hotel. There are plenty of other reviews that will point to issues. Anyhow, just be forewarned. I stand by my review 100%. And will never ever stay here again. ------------

Upon arrival, check-in was delayed due to a large group ahead of me. While the staff at the desk were friendly, it was frustrating after a long day. Additionally, my key card didn’t activate the lift, so I had to return to the desk to get it sorted. The service was polite, but both issues were annoying after a tiring day. As a single woman, I didn’t feel entirely safe walking to the hotel, and the location isn’t one I’d choose again, though I admit I’m not used to city environments. The first impression of the hotel was positive—modern, clean, and definitely a step up from places like Premier Inn or Travelodge. In the bedroom, I always inspect the bed, and unfortunately, I found a hair and a small orange stain when I lifted the sheets. I contacted reception via WhatsApp, and a staff member brought up a clean sheet, but with housekeeping gone for the day, I had to change the bed myself. The menu seemed limited, and I noticed that all the meat options appeared to be halal. Breakfast options were okay, but I was disappointed to learn that you have to pay extra for any coffee other than filter coffee. I had a terrible night’s sleep, partly because the bed felt unclean even after changing the sheet, and also due to the noise throughout the night—I was woken up several times. The heater didn’t work properly, though the air conditioning did cool the room down. The blinds didn’t close all the way. As a note a £50 deposit was required upon check-in. Overall, although friendly staff, I wouldn’t stay here again.
