Super modern hotel, with loads of concrete(I personally love the design). Rooms are modern, but tiny and I really mean super small (#not recommended if you are claustrophobic). Each room is a standalone house that also has a nice outdoors area. Beach is ok (there is just a tiny strip of sand beach), views are beautiful but somehow hotel left for something more to be desired. Shower gel/shampoo or whatever they call dish washer-like tablets are yikes. Personal is very kind. Beautiful hotel but room size (and lack of window!) really ruins it for me. Each room has assigned their umbrella and sun-bed - too bad if you do not like yours

The hotel is fairly large and the grounds are well kept. When approached the staff are polite and helpful. It lacks a few 5 star touches but nothing terrible. We arrived late (10.30 ish maybe) and were given an ipad to check ourselves in with. I can use an ipad but I don't really want to pay you 5 star money and have to check myself in. At the same time the restaurant had shut and one of the staff managed to arrange a sandwich from the kitchen. My partners vegan and they brought us a cheese and ham I think, when we pointed this out the two cheeky rascal porters walked off, pulled the ham and cheese out and returned with it. To be honest I thought it was quite funny, they'd have got away with it if they hadn't missed a bit of ham! We had a seafront villa with a pool. It was spacious overall. There were some really nice platforms fronting the sea with sun loungers on that have waitress service. Nice way to spend a day. One big disappointment was the gym. It's embarrassingly bad. I don't think I've ever seen one in a hotel that was so poorly equipped or such an unpleasant space to be in. Overall, it was OK for a week in the sun. Would I go back? No I wouldn't. They charge a 5 star price but the product isn't memorable and the staff weren't very attentive. It's alright there, but other places are nicer. If it was 3 or 4 star and they charged accordingly I'd have felt it was a fair product, but really I just feel they need to try a bit harder with a lot of little things or charge a more realistic price for the product.

We stayed for 5 nights at the Minos Beach Art Hotel and had a fabulous time. Looking at some of the other reviews we must have stayed in refurbished accommodation and I am not sure whether our stay would have been so good if we had stayed in the other units. However, I can only give feedback on our experience. Firstly the staff are an absolute joy. So friendly, so welcoming, so eager to assist. This is a massive asset to the hotel. I do hope this does not change. The breakfast offering was amazing and the omelette station incredible. Again, all staff friendly and helpful even when some of the guests were just rude and demanding. It must be difficult to keep smiling and being polite sometimes! We spent most of our time visiting the small gym in the morning, having breakfast and then sitting by the sea. The location is perfect with a clear water bay and small sandy beach. There is a beach on the far side of the hotel but we did not use that as the view was not very nice. there is an app you can use to order food and drinks to your umbrella - this is available for beach umbrellas and also umbrellas near the swimming pool. We enjoyed a night of Cretan food which i believe is hosted weekly and were also lucky to be there when there was a food and wine pairing evening event. There are a few matters which could be improved upon. The towels felt quite old and scatchy and there was nowhere to hang them to dry in our room. The hairdryer was really poor for the quality of the hotel and should be upgraded. The coffee at breakfast was really bad and tasted like it had been kept warm for ages. Fantastic eco pods to use for hair and shower gel combined but they really dried out your skin and hair - no condition was provided and the body lotion was pretty awful. However, none of that would stop us coming back again for an amazingly relaxed break.
