Is I have booked a room through booking.com and have had a door slammed on me by Jimmy Evans who is now refusing to give me a room I have paid for. He is so incredibly rude and told me he is leaving tonight and doesn’t care. As a customer I have been left in the lobby with no room. I am a single person who has been at a work party I am totally disgusted with how I have been treated I had a party and came to hotel at 2am. I was told because I didn’t check in on the date I came (despite a check out of 11am). I can’t have the room and I would have to pay double the amount I was warned about this hotel and regret booking this place.

I booked in for a single night in early March 2023 and opted for a “single room with view”. On arrival, the entrance hall is very eye catching with the a modern look. The member of staff who checked me in was helpful and friendly, as were all the others who I came into contact with during my short stay. The room (416) however was incredibly small with a view of a rear loading area, so I guess in this situation “view” translates as window. While there were most of the things I would expect, it just felt incredibly cramped. Even the shower door system meant that I had to virtually back out rather than being able to turn. It’s clearly had lots of lovely old rooms cut down into a more profitable but cramped layout. Speaking with another resident the next day, he said he’d had messages from all of his colleagues saying exactly the same thing so my room clearly wasn’t an oddity. Breakfast was very good value and tasted great, with some nice little additions to the normal fry-up. Again, staff were friendly and courteous. All-in-all, it served as a place to stay but if I had been staying for pleasure, I may have had more negative feedback.

Returned from a weekend stay yesterday. Good and bad points which I have to mention. My mine gripe is that had to wait nearly 40 minutes to get into room. Had paid for seaview and balcony and had had lovely sunshine in the afternoon, and it was starting to rain by the time got into room. Several other people were also waiting and fed up.6 Great location, nice spacious room and interesting decor. Lovely big bed (but lumpy hard pillows). Hotel decor really nice although carpets definitely past their best. Cigarette end left on balcony which was a shame. Bathroom had the wow factor, but my husband cut his foot the second time he hit it on the corner of the raised bath area. Had to cover with bath mat in case of bumping into it in the night. Communication very difficult in the week leading up to our break, could only leave answerphone message and after emailing and Facebook messaging had Ryan call who kindly answered all my questions. Cat also ended up calling the night before but by then had info needed. Breakfast good. Overcharged at the bar which was corrected when I questioned the price. Overall the stay was nice and of course the view fantastic. Shame about the little details.
