Marriott St Kitts Beach Club

When we arrived to the island it was an instant love fest!! The people were warm and welcoming without being pushy. We hailed a cab and the driver Jennifer was kind. She first asked if we had been on the island before , when we responded we had not, she stated, Welcome Home. She began to show us different history items as we headed to the resort. Upon our arrival we were greeted at the check in by Kemo. The large smile and warm welcomes continued. We asked what were the must sees of the island and must eats. He gave us a plethora of options to see, do and tries. We were escorted to the room by Craig who was equally accommodating. Stating that if we needed anything to reach out. All the staff we encountered were kind and accommodating. The property was very clean. The beach was free from trash and debris. As we were preparing to leave to explore we were greeted by the gentleman Arbon. He always made sure we got to the destination we wanted and when we returned he asked did it meet our expectation. I would highly recommend this little island as well as this resort. The beauty and location was a little slice of heaven!!!

I am copying the email I sent the management at this Hotel Marriott Management (St.Kitts) I spent a week at the St.Kitts Marriott 2/11/2023-2/18/2023. I am sharing my experience with you, because I’m not sure if you are aware of the condition of this property. I’ve been a vacation club owner for many years, and for the first time in my many years of experience with Marriott, I was completely surprised by the lack of upkeep and the condition of this property. I’ve visited this resort several times, and I have stayed in both the villas and the hotel. I stayed in the hotel for this most recent visit. The first room that I was assigned was not inhabitable by my standards. The door handle to enter the space had rust and mold on it. At the point that I saw this, I returned to the check-in desk to ask to be reassigned. The second room I was offered had double beds, instead of the king, that I had reserved many months prior. I accepted it, and we made the decision to make the best of it, although that was not what my husband and I expected for our first big vacation post COVID. In addition to the suite issues, the overall cleanliness and condition of the hotel was not of the high standards of Marriott, of which we’ve become accustomed to. Considering that I used 228,000 of my coveted Bonvoy points, the experience was disappointing. Perhaps we would have fared better if we stayed in the villas,and used our destination points, which would have been our first choice. The villa was not available when we reserved in May 2022, which is the only reason we decided to reserve in the hotel. Big Big Big Mistake. Although we made the best of our week in St.Kitts, our overall confidence in Marriott has dramatically waned. I’m attaching a photo of the door handle I mentioned above. The resort is nice but the restaurants are not great. A lot of the restaurants are only open on certain days. The breakfast buffet in the main dining area was terrible. Food was cold except the omelettes that were made to order. The pool areas and beach areas are maintained well. The staff was fantastic and very professional! Overall we enjoyed our stay.
