Legacy Gastro Suites

When we arrived I felt a little apprehensive as didn’t realise we was right in the middle of town, this turned out to be a bonus as so easy to get around, so many bars and restaurants…. Amazing place. Checked in by lovely ladies on reception. So helpful and friendly. Rooms are quirky and individual which adds to the charm of the hotel. Restaurant staff couldn’t be more helpful. We would definitely return 😊

Absolutely loved the location in Heraklion ….close to everything: marketplace, Lion and Central Squares, beautiful park, pier and waterfront, and more lovely outdoor cafes/restaurants than you could want. The service is super welcoming and friendly. The free breakfast is absolutely I credible…no buffets…eggs made to order, pancakes, yogurt, fruit, breads, meats and cheeses….just tell them what you don’t want! What we didn’t want is lunch! What ruined the stay for me was the room configuration. Inexplicably, there is no separate room for the all-glass shower and sink…they are located directly opposite the bed! The ostensible reason is to “save room”….which could have been better accomplished by eliminating some of the unnecessary furniture (writing desk, sofa, table and chairs…note: there was lovely, large balcony for sitting). Sorry, I like a little privacy while showering, applying makeup, teeth brushing. Maybe I am wrong, but I believe most Americans would be quite put off with this configuration, which apparently is common to all the rooms.

I took my elderly parents for a last minute trip and we stayed here at Legacy. It was amazing. The staff actually lined up to see us off when we left. We were there 5 days. They knew what we liked to eat, drink or snack on and it was ready when we were. The front desk staff recommended some amazing restaurants for us. Because my parents couldn't walk far, they made sure we got the best info for our situation. The rooms were very clean and the beds were so comfy. We would sit on our balcony and watch the people walking by and the beautiful sea in front of us. It wasn't on the water, but the view was still perfect! We were within close walking to the shopping area, many restaurants, and Lions Square. I can't wait to go back to Crete just to stay here.
