Really good hotel. If you read the reviews yes the hotel is dated, but I was pleasantly suprised. The rooms are older decor, however one thing they do have is plenty of space! Bathrooms are definitely overdue a refurb, a walk in shower etc (currently shower over the bath). In terms of food the breakfast was great, negative reviews earlier in the year re: service. We had no issues. We didnt opt for half board so cannot comment on dinner. Pool and general facilities including the spa are excellent. I used the spa on a daily basis and was a great option for a break from the sun. The gym certainly needs an upgrade and this is overdue but the pool, hot tub, plunge pool and sauna/steam room were great and having use of these for free is fantastic. Also the fruit was a lovely touch late afternoon to all sunbathers! Never struggled for a sun bed. Overall we were very happy with hotel, location is great. There is a great tapas restaurant in a smaller complex of restuarants towards the left of the hotel, on the beach. We only discovered this late on. We werent too impressed with the food in the port/marina. Having the car allowed is to go elsewhere. Also parking always freely available. We would 100% recommend renting a car, lots of nice beaches and towns within short drives. We thought the transfer/ taxi price was very high considering the distance to the airport. Would recommend the hotel 100%. Staff were all very polite and attentive.

We stayed for a week and it was super nice. The only thing could be improved is the quality of the main menu for the breakfast. Apart from this I could recommend this hotel.

This was our fifth visit in as many years to La Quinta Menorca and I have to say that before we arrived we were a little bit concerned that the hotel reviews were overall excellent but the restaurant reviews were not so good - although they did appear to be improving with the introduction of a new Restaurant Manager and a team of girls from Austria. (More about this later). We arrived at the hotel well before noon on Saturday the 13th of July and were warmly greeted by Washington on reception who checked us in efficiently and quickly and arranged for a refreshing welcome drink to be served. Louah then showed us to our room on the 2nd (top) floor and as always this was immaculately clean and furnished in a traditional Menorcan fashion. All rooms face the inner pool area which is surrounded by lawns, and immediately we were transcended to a haven of tranquility. No screaming children, no loud music - just the sound of the birds singing whilst a host of civilised respectful guests enjoyed the Eden-like offering. I have read previous reviews indicating that the general age of guests is high and there is no music booming out during the daytime around the pool - if this is what you want there are plenty of other hotels in the area offering all day screeching and screaming - La Quinta offers refinement and RELAXATION. After a quick trip to the fabulously stocked supermarket and a nice cup of tea it was time for a quick nap and then a walk down to the beautiful beach some five minutes walk away. Having informed Washington that we are Vegan. he confirmed that the Restaurant and Kitchen were aware and ready for our arrival - and in Head Chef Alvaro and his second in command Julian - as well as all of the other kitchen staff - we trust. This is one of the only hotels in our five holidays a year programme that we are confident enough to reserve on a half-board basis, as too frequently hotels just pay lip-service to the 'vegan ethos' - but not La Quinta. Soups, followed by a wonderful salad buffet, followed by a wide choice of delicious vegan main courses followed by sorbet . My only slight critique is that the choice of desserts for non-vegans looked absolutely incredible - but this is a mute point because we were so full up by the end of the main course that we only had room for a palate cleansing sorbet - and had we been vegetarian rather than vegan that we would have put on at least a stone each in weight due to the amazing looking dessert buffet choice. Hotel Manager Eva is frequently walking the hotel and is always available for a chat as and where necessary - a rarity in most hotels - and the reception staff were always there with a wave and a smile as we left and entered the hotel and were very friendly all round without being intrusive. We took several trips on the complimentary mini-bus to Ciutadella - where a trip to a little cafe' bar called Nibs should be mandatory - and drivers Kevin and Paula were happy and friendly guides on our various trips to and fro'. Now, the heart of a good holiday experience - once the hotel has confirmed it's serene and immaculate status - is the staff and the food (particularly during the evening) and this is where the hotel comes into its own. Yes, you can wander around the harbour and visit the array of restaurants available if you want to - but these appear manically busy and cannot possibly offer the continued serenity and refinement of La Quinta and its evening offerings. As I said earlier, the quality of the food is immense and I am now going to address the issues that appear most prominent in the criticism of the hotel in many previous reviews - the level of service. On the 1st of July 2024 a new Maitre was employed - Gianluca Stecca - and he has transformed the Restaurant into a happy, relaxed and wonderful place to dine. This is still awork in progress I am told but slowly and surely he is turning the Restaurant into an establishment that befits this fabulous five star hotel - and I cannot wait to see the progress that he has made when we visit the hotel next time around. Yes, he is having to work with young individuals that are not building their lives around being professional waiting staff - these are young - incredibly intelligent people who are adding to their life experiences before they become teachers, doctors, accountants, politicians and such like - and we should be grateful that they are prepared to share their journeys with us by indulging us whilst they do what they do in terms of building their respective careers. This has always been the case with La Quinta as the hotel closes during the winter months and individuals move on. Over the past five visits we have probably encountered three separate groups of staff who have spent a couple of years at the hotel before moving on to further their own careers, but this has not impacted upon the level of service in any way and this has reached a new high under the guidance of Gianluca. Now, I am the first to say when things are not right with a hotel (please see other hotel reviews) and the biggest issue I have generally is when the attitude of staff and management is poor and they are purely interested in following their own agendas. This is clearly not the case with La Quinta, as almost everyone involved in this hotel has a 'we want to please you 'can do'' attitude - and this, as far as I am concerned is the most important aspect that any hotel can offer holidaymakers. The cleaning standards are excellent and any small queries that we had were acted upon and resolved immediately. Now,,,,,,,The Restaurant and Staff: Martina and Stella greeted us each evening and morning and showed us to our tables, and Caterina filled in very nicely in Gianluca's absence. Melina, Lena, Juan (the artist), Rafa and Adria all provided a high level of service with a smile and the wonderful Chonni and Sidami would light up any room with their fabulous personalities whilst Sophia from Austria worked quietly and efficiently (also with a beautiful smile) and always made the time to ask if we were alright and did we need anything. Noelle and Anna - what can I say? Without doubt, two of the most intelligent, efficient and lovely young ladies that I have ever encountered anywhere. Always wonderfully efficient and always happy and supportive of each other and the rest of the team. Fluent in many languages and always going the extra mile to be happy and helpful - despite being far away from their homes and families. An absolute credit to their parents and to Austria itself. I would not at all be surprised if Noelle isn't Austrian Prime Minister in thirty years time and Anna doesn't become a famous Scientist or Doctor who wins a Nobel prize in whatever career field she chooses. These two girls are a prime example of the fabulous individuals that you will encounter at La Quinta. Finally, back to Gianluca, who is already raising the standards of the Restaurant to new and higher standards and as long as he is given the time over the next few years I am confident that La Quinta will become renowned for its high level of service and standards. Personally - as an example - I would like him to be given more control of the already decent wine list and make improvements with this based on his obvious knowledge in this field. Over the past five years we have enjoyed three different Restaurant Managers - two of which have moved on - and I strongly feel that the restaurant now needs a good long period of managerial stability and if Gianluca can be persuaded to stay he will bring a strong element of sophistication and high service levels - that appear to have been lacking prior to his arrival. A La Quinta hotel in Cala'n Bosch renowned for its serenity, high standards and a restaurant that offers the highest quality food and wine together with the impeccable service standards demanded by Gianluca - now that really would be something. We are already looking forwards to a return visit. During our two week wonderful stay at La Quinta we b
