Best holiday of my life. Robin and his entertainment crew have more energy than an Olympic athletics team. Their Lion King and We Will Rock You shows were worthy of Shaftesbury Avenue. It drives me mad to see people write withering reviews about 'the canteen' - at Cala Blanca, we had two restaurants at which we could eat an unnaturally plentiful abundance of wondrous food. People are being deliberately starved in Gaza. I give **** for humanity and five stars for everyone at Cala Blanca: Robin & team, reception, bar staff, cleaners, lifeguards (especially the chap who helped me after I fell during a run - very silly of me). Another five stars for everyone else at Cala Blanca and Cala Verde who I’m sorry not to have also specifically mentioned – thank you for providing hospitality, fun & memories while we all do our best to survive in the end times. Muchas gracias. Mucho gusto.

Just arrived back from a week at Invisa Cala Blanca with my partner and 3 young children. I emailed Invisa prior to our arrival and asked to stay at Cala Verde after reading several reviews. I booked through Jet2 which had it down as a 4 star resort and I booked for a ‘Premium deluxe room with a sea view’. Cala Blanca is not a 4 star hotel at all, it barely scrapes a 3 star!!! We checked in and were told we had been placed at Cala Blanca and went to our room which can only be described as a box!! A tiny room with 2 single beds pushed together, a pull out sofa bed and travel cot all squashed together. I went straight to reception and asked to speak to the manager to be told I’d have to sit and wait 15 minutes as she was on her break. I sat in reception waiting for 30 minutes until the reception manager finally came out. She offered me another room which had 2 rooms, one with two single beds pushed together and the other had the pull out sofa. No balcony and no sea view which was extremely frustrating as this meant when our children went to bed we’d have to go to bed and wouldn’t have the option of enjoying our holiday and having a drink on the balcony. When speaking to several other people round the pool they’d had the same problem and been moved to different rooms too. I booked this holiday under the illusion it was a 4 star hotel with great children’s entertainment… This is false advertisement! The children’s entertainment wasn’t very good, one of the girls was throwing spoons from the cutlery station at the restaurant into the pool for the kids to dive down and get?! The all inclusive isn’t amazing, the drinks are massively watered down. The ice creams at the bar are mini milks or mini twisters, everything else you have to buy. There is nothing in the area, 2 restaurants and a bar on the beach but nothing to walk around on an evening. We are a family of 5 and had to hire a car to go into Ibiza old town and San Antonio as reception said that I’d have to source my own taxi for a taxi big enough. We tried the car rental places outside the resort but found the man promoting rental cars in reception the cheapest. €100 for 1 day, but then when my partner went to collect the keys he did try and get more money out of him for extras. The first nights sleep in the room was impossible as the aircon wasn’t working we had 3 boiling hot children. The thermometer in the room was broken and we had no way of adjusting it. I spoke to reception the next day who advised someone would come and fix it. When we arrived back at the room later that day the aircon was on but it was too cold and we had no way of turning it down! It was just horrendous! I had to get up early on several days to get to reception for 8am to book for food at the better hotel Cala Verde but was always told they were full!! The reception staff were rude and unhelpful. I’ve seen a lot of people say there’s always plenty of sun beds at the pool, this is false. Everyone gets up at the crack of dawn to reserve sun beds, also don’t bother buying inflatables from the shop the lifeguards tell you off and say you’re not allowed them. All and all we won’t be returning, very very disappointed.

We stayed 1st week in July, private transfer from the airport took approx 35 mins - I'd recommend if you can afford this. Reception staff were very friendly and informative and arranged a car to have us and our cases taken to our room. We were in the Tagomago block and our premium room here had recently been renovated so were in great condition. Spotlessly clean room, fold out safa bed for our 12 year old and a huge balcony. There was the odd whiff of a drains type smell from outside - plus the delightful aroma of cat wee :). Free safe and small fridge in the room. Tried to use the coffee machine but don't think it was working. Nice 'his and hers' bathroom basins with big mirrors, big walk in shower with a rainfall type head. However, the toilet next to it was a bit weird. Must be a continental thing, but when one of us wanted to use the toilet, the frosted glass and no lock on the doors did 'encourage' everyone else to leave the room and enjoy the balcony to give some privacy! We were all inclusive and usually breakfasted in the main restaurant - which is really a canteen as others have said. If a hotel is going to accommodate hundreds of guests, the majority of whom have young kids - and most of whom are all inclusive - you are not going to be eating in an up market and tranquil restaurant. Set your expectations for the usual noise of cutlery being dropped on the floor, kids crying, mothers berating naughty kids.....and dads sat looking on in silence almost shell shocked :). If you're a family - and especially if you've done all inclusives at this price, you will be fine with this. (Why some adults only would choose this kind of hotel does puzzle me). The hotel also offers a late breakfast in the La Marina restaur....I mean....canteen. I thought this was an excellent option on the days when we fancied a lie in. Same food on offer as the main restaurant - buffet / help yourself food. As La Marina is a level above the main restaurant, the views while you eat / drink are lovely. For the first 4 days of our stay, after breakfast we'd venture to either of the non-adults-only pools. No problem finding sun beds at either pool and plenty of parasols too. Some inflatables are not allowed - I think anything like lilo's (even tiny ones for toddlers). But balls of all sorts are allowed so inflatable toys are OK, and water squirters. The pool next to the main restaurant / entertainment area did often have a bad drains smell in the air. Pools were clean enough (although my turquoise swim shorts developed patches of luminous green on them) - but here's the first oddity we encountered. Both family pools had deep ends - the middle pool I (at 6ft) could just about stand up in the deep end. The other pool nearest the main restaurant / entertainment area - had a deep end of 2m I think - so I couldn't stand up in this. This in effect meant both of these pools only had people / kids using half the pool (see photo). Bizarrely, the biggest pool was the adults only pool - I think this also had a deep end but only at the very end. Again, given this hotel is clearly aiming at young families I think they've got the pools completely the wrong way round in terms of usage. The adults only pool was barely used and didn't look busy when I nosed around a couple of times. And sadly, by day 5 the availability of sunbeds around the family pools by around 10am became almost non existent as people had reserved them all with towels. This left me with no option but to set an alarm for 8am on the last two days to ensure we could have three sunbeds together. Last thing I want to do on holiday is set an alarm as I do that the rest of the working year. I felt sorry for latecomers on those days having to sit in chairs by the pool. It definitely felt like the pools / sunbeds couldn't cope with demand - I can imagine it being a lot worse when the English kids holidays start. Poolside bars were good - bar staff excellent. The two drinks per customer rule wasn't really enforced - people were being sensible anyway and not ordering 18 halves of lager per round :) Food was pretty much available most of the day. We usually went to La Marina for a late lunch - plenty of choice. Fresh made pizzas were good. Calamari was excellent (but only appeared on one day in the week we were there). Plenty of salad options, and chips, burgers and hotdogs for kids. We also visited the Spar (there's 2 of them - across from the hotel reception and 50m up the road) - to stock up on water bottles and snacks for the room. (Plenty of places at the hotel were you could top up your water bottles to leave in the fridge in your room). Our rooms were cleaned daily by the brilliant cleaning staff. Both sleeping areas in our room had big TV's and we were able to find coverage of the Euro 2024 football games. I think the TV's had one or two English channels (ITV and ITV1). Evening meals we used the main restaurant - again, very busy. Just about enough choice - better if you're a carnivore, fine if you're pescatarian.....maybe a bit limited if vegetarian. Here - and at La Marina - you cannot self serve beer or wines. I think it's now law that a member of staff has to do this. The lager was OK - estrella I think. The white wine wasn't exactly the finest shall we say. The rose marginally better - we didn't try the red. The evening entertainment was exactly as you'd expect - the odd production (lion king, aladdin etc) - quiz night was very funny. We would enjoy those while sipping on G&T or vodka & coke - make sure you ask for Gordons or Smirnoff if you're all inclusive or you will be served local variations. We ventured to the beach once......you have to visit the beach to remind yourself why you don't go to the beach on holidays. A week since being at home and I'm still finding sand in my clothes and rucksack :) We were able to use the facilities at the Cala Verde - but had everything we needed at the Cala Blanca so didn't bother. The animation team were excellent - loads on offer to do and not pushy at all about getting people involved. A final mention to all the other staff who were excellent - they all clearly work very hard either serving you or maintaining the hotel and grounds. For the price we paid we were happy enough with the Cala Blanca. I don't know why, but the cost of all inclusive holidays to spain / the canaries / Balearics has rocketed the last year or so. We stayed at the Cala Blanca for a reasonable price given the facilities on offer. There wasn't anything that would particularly draw us back to this hotel. Given our lad is soon to be 13 it's probably the last time we'll do all inclusive. But if we were at the start of our all inclusive journey with a pre school kid we'd be OK to return here. I'd recommend this hotel to families with very young kids - and keep your expectations realistic.
