Hotel Overview

Did you know that Marbella has a micro-climate of a minimum of 18ºC all year round thanks to the mountains that protect it from the north? So you can always enjoy the beach. Iberostar Selection Marbella Coral Beach is the best place to do so. Looking over the sea, 1 km from Puerto Banús and 5 km from the centre of Marbella, this new hotel has a beach club on the seafront and a restaurant so that you can enjoy the best Andalusian gastronomy without leaving the shore. We also have 2 outdoor pools, one of which is heated, a Spa and wellness area where you can reconnect with your inner self and, next to the hotel, you will find 10 golf courses to choose from. Have you ever stayed in a themed room? Feel the experience! Choose between Penthouse, Sharing Pool, Sharing Jacuzzi, Do nothing and Cinema.

Paradise, stunning / beautiful 💕

Perfect amazing paradise No other words to describe this place it’s stunning The rooms are huge and beautiful, clean Staff - wow 🤩 carmen especially is absolutely outstanding this lady was constantly present around the hotel and couldn’t do enough before while there and even after our stay she is truly an asset to this hotel please promote her!! She emailed me before our stay and kindly set up the rooms for my husband and daughters birthday I was so grateful All staff Ana on reception aswell and security and bar staff all so so welcoming and friendly made us feel “At home” I have 4 children under 10 that came here and nothing was too much for them my son has autism and he was made to feel so comfortable and loved it here which was a relief for me and my husband The beautiful fish and tortoise by the pool and your rooms is amazing and honestly this hotel is like stepping into another world My husband doesn’t sleep well and every morning 4/5am he would go down to reception and the staff and security would chat with him and get him hot milk for his coffee no moans and so welcoming The food was beautiful laid out and tasted amazing I read a few bad reviews before I came (please don’t bother or waste your time) honestly these people must be blind as this hotel and all staff were honestly next level and we are fussy! Weather was perfect and hot 22/23 just right for us Taxi to the port/ yachts is literally 5 euro one way or a walk in morning down the beach 15 mins but a beautiful walk Please don’t hesitate to book this hotel we shall be back next year and now regular every year It was just so nice to switch off which usually we never get to do can’t praise it enough! Perfect location Carmen thank you 🙏🏻 you are a treasure and I can’t wait to see you all next year 💕🥰

Not bad.

We stayed at this hotel from the 3rd March for 7 nights which we later found out was the 1st day of opening for the new season. We got a private transfer from Malaga airport which only took 40 minutes. Check in was ok but not a lot of information given out, we were offered an upgrade to all inclusive with a 30% discount but we declined as it would of cost us an extra €500 and we prefer to eat out for lunch. We were HB. We had a double room with sea side view and pool view which was great. The room itself was clean and plenty of hangers, but we found again not much information in the room i.e what was charged for like coffees in your room, we later found out you need to scan different barcodes in the room to get any info.. we had a Nespresso machine in the room with 4 coffee pods which you could have free of charge on the first day but if you wanted a replacement lot it would cost you €6, we did use 2 on the first day and a bit of milk out of the mini bar and were charged €2 for the bit of milk. Breakfast was good all that you could want really, eggs 3 ways, bacon, mushrooms, hash browns, pastries, pancakes, continental section as well, couldn’t fault it. Dinner was nice on the occasions Oscar the chef was on as he would do anything for you, one night we dished up some chicken paella but there wasn’t much left and he said a fresh lot will be 5 minutes but we weren’t that worried about it and went and sat down, next thing Oscar appeared at our table with a plate of the freshly cooked paella absolute gem of a chef. On the occasions Oscar wasn’t on we did have a pretty poor chef didn’t get his name wish I had but he was so slap dash we ordered a steak to be cooked in front of us, he didn’t season it, gave us cold plates and basically chucked it on the plate and gave us it, also on these nights the veg to go with your meat was not stocked up so you would have to hang about for new veg to come out whilst your meat was getting cold! Selection was quite good different stews/curry always pizza and paella, pastas 2 or 3 different meats and a fish dish, salads, cheeses and plenty of desserts. The next day we were having lunch and Isabel a lovely waitress was asking us to review on Google and I told her about the fiasco the night before, she apologised then later brought us over a dessert each to say sorry which I thought was lovely. Forgot to add that each evening you were given a little drink of something as you went in. We stayed for a week but couldn’t swim in the pool as it was freezing even though they said it was heated it did not seem like it at all, so that was a bit disappointing. As it was March there was no entertainment so went down to Puerto Banus and found a club (Joys) there with great live music even though the drinks are pretty expensive it is a great atmosphere. We travelled to Marbella centre on the bus which cost €1.18 each one way great value. Most of the staff at this hotel are friendly and helpful.

We won’t be back

Disappointing check in. No information given about services, spa, or the fact our jacuzzi was empty. We found 2 naked people in the guest spa, obviously they hadn’t been told any rules or information either! Check in man didn’t ask if we wanted our own jacuzzi filled - why wouldn’t we?? Unlike other Iberostar hotels, there is no welcome drink for guests. Most importantly, we were not told the mini bar is chargeable - got filled each day, but no mention of payment and nothing in the room giving prices. Never paid in other Iberostar hotels (assistant manager did not believe us and just quoted terms & conditions - she insisted the hotel was a class above Jardin de Suites in Majorca, even though we said it was also 4 star Selection - and she would not believe we never pay in Jardin or Bougainville) It may be irrelevant to your terms and conditions, but we do not lie. We were shocked to get a bill on checking out, then a further bill on returning home. Our point was that we should have been told at check in as there is nothing in the room to say it is chargeable. We are Infinity members and use Iberostar 4 times a year. Will not return to this hotel out of principle. Great shame because it was a nice penthouse and lovely restaurant staff. Our point is that the check in process needs reviewing and should include telling guests the mini bar is chargeable and how the process works. Also, there is nothing to say how much the drinks/refill are - is this allowed or legal?
