This is our second stay at this resort and while covid gets the blame for most unfavorable things these days it may be time to explore other options when picking a property. Sareeta our day butler with the head butler amazing team and was the highlight of our trip. The wonderful tall lady chef at the beach grill is truly deserving of a promotion because she is so talented. Now for the concerns. Bag pickup from room on checkout never showed even though I confirmed room and time 3 times with the butler, front desk and the concierge. We were left at the rose hall shopping center even though we were back on time to meet the courtesy shuttle he showed early and left us. Had to taxi back at $25 usd one way. Those menus they want you to scan....worthless. oh we don't have that or we never had ginger ale at iberostar. Rubbish ....call cancun iberostar grand. Pool temp is not enjoyable ..invest in a heat exchanger better to enjoy the ocean. Finally I watched the server at the Japanese restaurant tell us what they were serving us and no choice in the matter. Again menu is there for decorative purposes. These poor people got a spoon of fried rice a couple pieces of seafood maybe 4 bites and some veggies because they didn't eat meat. For they kind of money people spend to go to this resort and get sub par service do your home work because when it is identified to the folks there standard answer we will look into it. Resolving issues when they are brought to you is more important than lip service which is what we got a lot of. Things need to change iberostar you can't keep doing the same stuff and expect different results.
The staff was excellent. The facilities were above what we expected. All in all, it was a wonderful experience. We would recommend this place to others and, in fact, are thinking about returning ourselves.
I had a great trip this week. Nowhere is ever perfect, especially with post-COViD staffing challenges. It’s the customer service, starting with a smiling face and kind heart that can make all the difference in the world. There are two shining stars at this resort. When I arrived I was greeted by Rohayni at the front desk. She was so friendly and happy. She took the time to explain everything about the report that I needed to know. I also saw her throughout my stay and upon checking out as well. She was always smiling and showing kindness. The other was my Butler, Taneil. He was very accommodating and always checking to see if I needed anything. He is sure to acknowledge you when he sees you around the buildings. He brought an ice bucket with my favorite bottle of wine. He even ironed my clothes for me and did a great job with them as well! Taneil is another person on staff that treated me like I was the only person at the resort. I always felt welcome and safe. As a middle aged woman traveling alone, it mattered greatly. Kindness shown by both of these young professionals made my trip extra special.
