Did you know that Jamaica’s beauty and exoticism has lured several famous actors and personalities to its shores, including the Queen of England, Errol Flynn, Beyoncé, and Paul McCartney? This beachfront, adults-only hotel on Montego Bay provides butler service for the ultimate luxury experience. This is the perfect time to disconnect and spoil yourself with a treatment from SPA Sensations, which you can enjoy in your private suite or right on the shore. Sample local or international gastronomy at one of our 5 restaurants and 4 bars, which include a swim-up bar. Our recommendation? Visit the virgin beaches on the south of the island and discover the vibes of the various Jamaican rhythms.

We celebrated my husband’s birthday with such fanfare thanks to the attentive and caring staff. Our room was ocean front so we savored the energy and the warmth from our balcony. The food was delicious… we hesitated to go to the buffet YET .. THAT IS WHERE the most delicious food was . Our room was decorated thanks to the direction of AKEEM ( we generously thanked him) . With our toes in the sand, we savored a five star private dinner attended to so eloquently by BEVAN. AND the lovely TANISHA catered to our every need at the cafe . We chose this resort because we were told the food was exceptional. We were not disappointed. The service and care of the staff was also exceptional. One thing … please please heat your pool a bit so your guests can enjoy the swim up bar .

We were guests of the resort from the 21st of Feb. to the 28th. This was our 4th trip to the grand. We were at the resort 2 years before the pandemic and 2 years after travel was was allowed. I see people’s reviews stating the resort is not what it used to be. I believe you need to ask yourself the question before reviewing this property Is anywhere in the world the back to pre pandemic? We noticed quite a few upgrades have been done since we were here last year. they have upgraded the carpets in the hallway and the furniture in the rooms have been upgraded to light wood rather than dark wood. the beds are very comfortable. The buffet for dinner is open 5 days a week now as opposed 2 last year. I feel that people who complain that they can’t get food don’t realize that they can go to the connecting hotel and eat there. we for the first time went to the buffet next door and found that the menu was completely different than the one at the grand. The pizza there was to die for. Staff who went above and beyond to ensure our trip was a good one. Rohan our Butler. Judy a hostess during the morning buffet and lunch buffet. Meeka on the entertainment crew and the grill cooks and smoothie experts Shivonne, Imogene and Maxine. I wish I knew all the staff names we came in contact with as each and everyone of the were more than helpful always having a smile on their faces ensuring all guests had everything they needed or wanted. The resort was very busy during our week there due to 2 very large groups however there was alway plenty of beach and pool chairs. Dinner one night did pose a problem as these groups had booked most of the restaurant time however after speaking to Syrecka she did find us a table at the restaurant of our choice. We can’t wait to come come back next year.

Overall, I wouldn’t recommend this hotel to visitors for the reasons listed below. The Rooms The room was a beautiful ocean view and was kept very clean. The Pool Area It was beautiful and well maintained but the water was too cold to get in the pool. The Beaches The staff cleaned the beaches each day and kept it nice with the exception of one morning where they did not take the towels off the beach chairs until 8:45 am due to an evening event the night before. I really wanted to relax and read on the beach. I did not appreciate the fact that drug dealers and locals are allowed to bother you and attempt to sell their goods to you on a daily basis. They actually allow them to bring their kayaks to the beach to block your walk on the beach and attempt to sell things to you. The Restaurants I was sick from the food from the second on despite using only bottled water to brush my teeth. This hotel advertises 5 restaurants (many of which were not open on certain evenings). Despite booking reservations upon our arrival, we still were left without a place to eat dinner one evening. This is unacceptable for an all inclusive resort. The buffet was even closed forcing us to order room service which took an hour and delivered cold food. The coffee shop never had fresh food in the mornings (it was always left from the night before). Staff Half of them were great while others were less than helpful. I have never been to an all inclusive restaurant that had employees act as if they could not be bothered to serve you a drink unless you gave them a tip. We tipped drivers, maids, butler & room service daily but know that other resorts (like Sandals) do no allow their staff to accept tips. For the amount of money we paid for this vacation, tipping should not be expected. We do want to thank the butler for going above and beyond to make our anniversary special on our last night.
