The management and customer service are unacceptable. A booking already paid in 2020 (larger amount) for 2 rooms is no longer recognized or is completely ignored. Multiple emails to claim the booking after the lockdown phase were ignored. Instead, new offers with exorbitantly high prices were sent without addressing the already paid booking. Several emails with reference to the previous ones were sent to the hotel. Relatively quickly came a response to address the issue. That was it. The feedback goes nowhere. Gladly we would have been a guest again or alternatively would have accepted a refund. During the pandemic, we have NOT immediately reclaimed our already paid booking or even sued to support the hotel! The question is whether it is simply an unprofessional way of working or greed for profit. Or a combination of both. Neither argument should be a benchmark for a hotel with such standards. The facts are simply unacceptable and more than annoying!  Â

I spent a pleasant few days at the Tartane, in what seems to be a rather overrated part of France. In my wonderings in the area surrounding the hotel, I discovered seaweed chocked beaches, endless thickets of impenetrable bamboo and some stunning houses. Further exploration would probably have revealed some more agreeable locales. Indeed, St Tropez proper is quite appealing in a trashy kind of way. The hotel lays on a shuttle to give easy access to and from the town. Staff at the Tartane are welcoming and friendly, although some lack the polish to be found at other high-end hotels. The restaurant is popular and for good reason - the food is excellent. My room was peaceful and spacious. Outside lay a private lounging area, which was steps away from the pool. I enjoyed a few morning swims but had to take great care when doing lengths. The sides of the pool are almost invisible when viewed underwater and I was at constant risk of braining myself at each end. The Tartane provides a classy, secluded retreat from the glamour / vulgarity of St Tropez town.

This hotel was recently renovated with lovely, fun decor. Our room was very comfortable, with a nice private patio that lead to the pool/dining area. Something unique about the design was that the water closet was located in the hall around the corner of the bathroom, and that the shower had no partition, so if someone were to use it, the entire bathroom would be fair game to getting soaked. My husband and I didn't mind this at all, but this feature could be strange to other travelers. Aside from this small quirk, the customer service at this hotel was unmatched. The concierge team assisted with all our transfers, dinners and beach club reservations in advance of our stay, and their recommendations were amazing. The complimentary hotel shuttle was also a great convenience, and saved us from many uber/taxi costs. The hotel restaurant at night serves asian cuisine -- which was authentic and amazing (get the pekin duck and green curry!). The chef came out to greet us and we thanked him for such a lovely meal. All in all, we highly recommend this property for the service alone. You will feel taken care of every step of the way.
