Do not go Here if you are more than 30 years old! Sadly this hotel seems to be unable to give entertainment and music for people older than 30 AND preferable speaking Spanish…… The music is Spanish all over the hotel even though it is big enough to have international “corner”. We did get a food poisioner after visiting the Indish theme restaurant - and the hotel doctor wanted 250$ before subscribing medicine….. eventhough it only was from hotel food!!!!!! If you are from Europe I would choose another hotel in DR…. We did get a more expensive trip by talking to one of the hotel diving guides than to take our own travel agency bureau so do not do that either….. We Will not return to this hotel or others in DR for that matter…. it is more expencive Here than Europe and this hotel do not do anything for european turists
Reviews for this hotel sway from one extreme to the other. Me and my wife are currently staying at the hotel and just about to go in to our third day. I just felt this place needed an honest appraisal as it's quite unique. Firstly I wouldn't rate this as a five star establishment although some of what it has to offer is better that some 5 star establishments we have frequented. The good bits are. 1. Large complex with many restaurants, bars and pools and no shortage of sun loungers. 2. Lively entertainment for people who like a party vibe ( young or old). 3. Overall clean with friendly helpful staff. This includes the reception desk who we personally have had no issues with. 4. Good standard of food and drinks. 5. Our room is clean and a decent size with a super king bed. 6. Lovely private beach. Some of the let downs for the hotel are: 1. Lacking some maintenance requirements such as lifts out of order, door cards constantly failing and some room decors needing a refresh. 2. Not for holiday makers seeking a quiet or romantic get away. This is a party hotel. 3. All restaurants work on a buffet service which is fine but together with the easy maintenance decor it hardly makes the eating experience feel special. There are all ages and nations staying at the hotel but it's main clientele are Americans who come for a short break and they like to pack a lot in. This hotel does the job perfectly and is very good value for money compared to others in the area. Overall I would rate this a three or four star hotel at best.
Ok for us this place was just all wrong! It felt like an 18-30's holiday! If you like constant music, noise, being drunk and smoking weed then this place is great. If you just want peace and quiet then do not come here. I thought adults only would be quiet but hey you live and learn! Children are far quieter and far better behaved!! On the whole the resort is OK, food is OK as long as you like buffet service, there are 2 restaurants that are full service but limited menu choice so gets boring after a while. Rooms are adequate but nothing special. Also a big no no for anyone with mobility issues, lift worked sporadically and resort is huge! I could easily clock up 10,000 steps just walking to meals and the pool. Our room was nearly 3/4 K from the sea. Generally not the cleanest place either. Staff are OK but more helpful if you tip well. Also hard to get low denomination notes so if you can, order these before you come. Also bring your own towels! The ones they provide are not great and they run out.
