It was a treat to stay at the Hotel Okura. Beyond having a caring staff from front desk to someone who took great care of our room, we were able to purchase Tram tickets at the front to have available when we explored Amsterdam. It was wonderful to observe a canal from our room and see many bicyclists and walkers on the nearby sidewalk. (Only two things needed improvement...one waitress to be more on task and the lower corner of the shower to be repaired before the next occupants arrive.) Next time, I'd rent a bike and explore the nearby shopping first. Fun to see so many bakeries per block.

I almost gave this hotel a 3, but it still deserves an overall 4 star. This was my first time in Amsterdam and I researched where we wanted to stay. The location is great as we were happy to be in a more local neighborhood - we were walking distance (if you like to walk) from many bars and restaurants that were local/ fantastic and away from the crowds of the Centre. Unfortunately - the hotel did not meet my expectations regarding service (room service in particular) - one of the days we were gone from 8-4:30 and came back to an uncleaned room (even though we pushed the button for room service) - other days we had to ask for new coffee cups/ pods so they only half cleaned the rooms. The amenities of the hotel are all satisfactory, but nothing special. Based on reviews and price I was expecting more from this hotel, so overall was disappointed.

Okura is the best hotel in Amsterdam without question. The staff, rooms, restaurants are all top class. I used the swimming pool every day and it was relaxing and refreshing. Food was beautiful, rooms and hotel was clean and comfortable. Top class and well done to all.
