Wonderful hotel! Best room in the hotel – top floor (one of two sea facing top floor suites) with a very large balcony; south and west facing for amazing sea, beach, old town, and sunset views. Positives + Excellent location – on waterfront (across the street from the beach and water); at the east end of the boardwalk stretch with beach clubs; about a 10 minute walk to the marina and old town and a 12 minute walk to the Italian border (which you just walk through without having to stop). From the Napoleon, you can walk easily to all of the old town and “new” town commercial area and on the waterfront pedestrian sidewalk path all the way west through Roquebrun and to Cap Martin with incredible views. There is a grocery store across the street from the hotel and plenty of restaurants within an easy walk. + Top floor suites have floor to ceiling sea facing windows with auto blinds that create privacy; you can see out but no one can see in. The balcony is very large with lounge chairs, a table and chairs, an awning, and incredible views. + Suite is spacious, although the entry hallway is a lot of wasted space. Good storage space in large closets with shelves and hanging space. + Long built in counter is good for storage space; we had to use this for our carryons and one suitcase as there is only one luggage rack and nowhere else to put suitcases so you can live out of them. + Small frig has space to store your own stuff; and free bottles of water are replaced daily. + bathroom has good counter space; good water pressure (although the water never got hot but was always only lukewarm at best – we told them about this when we checked out). A large tub is placed under the window (with the privacy blinds, you can see out but no one can see in). + Breakfast is a good value at only 14 euros; good sliced protein, variety of breads and pastries, fresh fruit, and a very pretty back garden in which to sit. + Beach and pool towels are complimentary + there is a pool and a little gym Negatives Shower water never got hot; was always only lukewarm at best. We told them about the need to fix this when we checked out. - It took a long time to get the room cleaned; housekeeping staff has been hard to find and retain across the hospitality industry in 2022 but this was a longer wait than most hotels. We would find the housekeeping person before leaving the room to let them know we were out and it was a good time to clean but we would find that they would not get to the room until late in the afternoon. - The “clean my room / do not disturb” cardboard door handle hangar ALWAYS fell off of the door handle every time you closed the door and we thought maybe that is why our room was so late to be cleaned. We finally attached it with a rubber band but the housekeeping person removed the rubber band every day which was annoying. - There is only 1 luggage rack which is a huge inconvenience – when will hotels realize that two people have two suitcases and need two luggage racks?! - The bed was very hard.

This is a nice hotel. Good service, clean and well maintained. But on the 2. November at 21:00 the were a fire alarm. As I could see most guests of the hotel went outside the building. During this evacuation there were no information provided to the guests and it is clear that there were no routines. A guest asked if they could return to their room and the reply was « it`s up to you» This is far from being acceptable. There should be established fire routines handling these situations.

Well-maintained hotel with seaviews. Exceelent bar area and pool. Rooms are modern, only gripe I had, was that there was no mirror near natural light/in bedroom. Breakfast is perfectly adequate and can be taken in a courtyard garden. Staff are not the most welcoming. On arrival I used my intermediate level French, but the receptionist would have clearly seen I was struggling with aspects of the conversation. I didn't feel I could ask for local tourist recommendations such as restaurants and therefore had an indifferent experience on the first very wet weather night, having also never been in Menton before. Didn't endear us to the place. Plus no welcone drink of fresh lemonade either. Personal gripe of mine with hotels that advertise something on arrival and it's rarely forthcoming! Just DON'T!!!! At checkout, again no interest shown by receptionist on whether we enjoyed our three night stay. Disappointing all-round on service front. Night porter was helpful though.
